Welcome to The Bear Den!

Nestled amidst the serene mountain landscape, The Bear Den is a captivating single-level cabin that encapsulates the essence of a tranquil mountain retreat. This cozy abode welcomes you with its modernized kitchen, providing a perfect culinary playground, and an indoor dining area accommodating up to six guests, making it an ideal space for shared meals. The centerpiece of the cabin is a wood stove fireplace, not only offering warmth but also infusing the interior with the comforting charm of a traditional mountain lodge.

The Bear Den features three thoughtfully designed bedrooms, including two king bedrooms that share a full bathroom with a beautifully tiled tub and shower combination conveniently located in the hallway. Additionally, there's a queen ensuite bedroom with a tiled shower, providing a private and peaceful sanctuary for guests.

As you step outside onto the deck, breathtaking mountain vistas stretch as far as the eye can see, creating an enchanting backdrop for morning coffee and evening gatherings. For those seeking relaxation, the hot tub beckons, offering a soothing soak amidst the natural beauty of the surroundings. The deck also boasts a grill, creating the perfect setting for outdoor cooking and dining.

The Bear Den not only provides a serene mountain retreat but also offers proximity to outdoor adventures. It's a mere five-minute drive from the enchanting Wildcat Lake and just 15 minutes from downtown Banner Elk, North Carolina, where you can explore charming shops, dine in local restaurants, and experience the cultural heartbeat of the area. This cabin is the perfect gateway to a mountain getaway that seamlessly blends comfort and natural beauty.


Additional notes:
***It's very important that guests are equipped with an AWD or 4WD vehicle during winter months or inclement weather. The road leading to the home is windy and at times narrow. Chains may also be necessary during heavy snow. During summer months, AWD/4WD is recommended, but may not be needed if one is familiar with gravel roads. The driveway is short, but uphill.
- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home.
- The Bear Den offers streaming TV only, no cable or satellite package. 
- For larger groups, Firefly Cabin is just around the corner.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths.
- Towels and linens are provided for our guests at all properties. 
- Repeat guests of The Bear Den can take advantage of a 5% discount!
- Cancellations more than 60 days from arrival are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 31-60 days before arrival will be eligible for a 50% refund. Standard BRMR policy applies for cancellations within 30 days of arrival.
