We recently stayed at a cabin in Eagles Nest near Banner Elk and booked through Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. It was more than a five star experience. The cabin was beautiful and right on the Elk River. The customer service was excellent and they answered all of our questions. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable during the stay. We will book again!

The cabin is absolutely adorable, with every amenity needed available. Although close to others, you never feel that way. The grounds are expertly maintained to provide privacy and the closeness of nature. The views of the creek are spectacular. Could not recommend this place more, it was everything we had hoped for.

The River Sound cabin was a perfect place for our small family! Conveniently located near the Elk River and close to a beautiful hike with a waterfall on the Lodges at Eagles Nest property. Everything you could need is supplied in the cabin and the owner was super helpful and came out within minutes when we needed him. My wife and I had a great stay here. The house is actually across the street from the larger, gated community, tucked in with about 3 other homes in a separate, gated area. The decks are a wonderful place to relax and house is quite elegant. As some have mentioned the only downside is being right next to the road as you can hear traffic (mostly the bigger trucks) as they drive by. However, the 2 min walk to beautiful fishing water more than made up for this for us.

Husband, wife, and 9 yr old daughter on trip. There were larger properties to choose from, for sure, but we didn’t need anything bigger. The size of property was perfect. Loved the open floor plan. We realized after checking in how much this felt like a cabin. Others look like cabins on the outside but more like houses on the inside. We never noticed the traffic on the road. The pictures don’t do the interior justice. The main bed is solid wood with wood carvings of trees on posts. Two beautiful orange lamps on each side of bed were awesome. The fireplace is nicely done, with stone, not too gaudy. Wooden ceiling, wooden stairs, wooden front door, wooden flooring etc....

I can't say enough about this cabin. It was perfect for our stay and my only regret is not booking more days. We spent an entire day on the property just exploring all the beautiful surroundings and another day nearby on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We visited nearby Grandfather Mountain and then went to Blowing Rock and Boone for the afternoon. We loved returning to the cabin and cooking meals in the kitchen. The cabin is breathtaking and very clean and the porch is amazing with the view of the creek. It was so relaxing. We could hear some road noise at times but we didnt mind it. Will definitely return!

We had a fabulous time at The River Sound Cabin celebrating our 20th Anniversary! Cabin and multiple decks were exactly as the pictured. We walked into a clean and modern cabin that was perfect for the two of us celebrating a special occasion. We enjoyed the lower deck in the late afternoons listening to the water from the Elk River with a glass of wine. Only recommendations we have are: to have steak knives and a steamer pot for vegetables. We cooked/grilled every night but one. I’m a lucky lady in that my husband loves to cook and is a great chef! We had grilled trout, a grilled ribeye, and grilled lamb chops 3 of the 4 nights there. No steak knifes for the steak and lamb chops though. For the vegetables, we were able to improvise for the steamer pot to steam asparagus. We enjoyed the Banner Elk community and Blowing Rock (drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway is breathtaking). We will be back!!

The expansive decks are great for relaxing to the sounds of the river. The Cabin is beautiful and well appointed. Very comfortable location I would stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful unit. If a big group is getting together, as in our case, it would be a plus to rent one of 4 units in this pod.

Nice well-kept smallish cabin with open layout plus loft. Lots of deck space for views of the stream. Pool access next neighborhood over (5 minute walk) and community access. Road is directly behind the house but not terribly noticeable. Overall a great stay.

Not only was the cabin great, but more surprisingly was the Eagles Nest neighborhood with all of the included amenities. My kids had a blast at the Toy Barn having access to all of the different sports equipment. Overall, we had a great stay! Would go back again!

After driving five hours from Nashville, we arrived on Thursday late afternoon to paradise! Sometimes when you see something advertised on line, it never quite looks as wonderful in person. Well, imagine our delight to have all our expectations exceeded!! It was like living in a cozy tree house! All the finishes were high end and the bed was insanely comfortable! The location is awesome, easy driving to Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. The house was equipped with everything we needed to BBQ and have a fabulous dinner outside and enjoy drinks on the porch. Can't say enough wonderful things about our experience!! We'll be back!!

Beautifully cozy and elegant cabin with high end rustic decor. Yes, it sits close to the road (the road follows the river) but road sounds were not bothersome and the sounds of the river far outweigh them. It was very soul-soothing to sit out on the deck. Cabin has all necessities, including basic pantry and bath supplies. Joanie with the management company was so friendly and helpful and was there at check in to show us around. No gas starter in the fireplace and you will likely want to bring more than the 3 provided fire starters. Delivery of firewood is very convenient but a bit pricey ($100 for about $50 worth of wood). Town of Banner Elk is lovely with some great restaurants, wineries and breweries nearby. Would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Traffic is a bit noisy during the day, but not at night. We spent our days on the back covered porch. River noise helps to drown out the traffic noise.
Also, wish it had a small table and chairs behind the swing on the porch. We ate out there and when it rained we just ate on little side tables there.

The cabin is a one room structure with an exposed loft that sleeps 2 comfortably. The cabin has a rustic feel while all of the appliances and amenities are state of the art. The master king bed was very comfortable. The property is located beside a stream and the relaxing sound of the stream was so peaceful. The owners clearly spared no expense in designing this cozy getaway. The Bedding, TV, Shower, washer-dryer, TV outside on porch were all perfect. Selfishly, I hesitate to write this review because I would like to keep this gem a secret. The amenities in Eagles Nest across the street (basketball court, disc golf, and playground) were also an added bonus that we plan on utilizing on our next trip. Go ahead and book this cabin, you will not be disappointed.

The amenities in Eagles Nest across the street (basketball court, disc golf, and playground) were also an added bonus that we plan on utilizing on our next trip.
