we booked this cabin for Father's Day weekend and had such an amazing time. the cabin is so beautiful! the views are breathtaking! The place was very spacious. We loved the pool table and the hottub. I really liked how they have board games for people to use and movies to watch.

We had a large group ski trip and this place was perfect! It rained really heavy on the way there so the drive up after turning off 105 was a bit dicey. I would highly recommend AWD if not 4x4. The view from the place is amazing! Also loved all of the items available in the kitchen..super helpful with a big group!

Black Bear Lodge was the perfect place for 2 families and 4 kids. Everyone had plenty of space. Loved the fireplace, view and big bathrooms. The proximity to Boone was nice, as we did more local exploring. The cabin it self still feels miles away from everything? I would recommend the home and we would definitely return. Thank you!

We had a great stay at the cabin with friends and family! The kids loved the cabin and all of its amenities, had a great time exploring, and we were lucky enough to get a little snow and go sledding and make a fire. Wouldn’t have changed a thing! Thanks for the memories.

Black Bear Lodge in Banner Elk was awesome! Stayed 1 week in January. A winter storm hit us but we came prepared. The snow and view cannot be beat at this house if you go during the winter months. The wood burning fireplace was our favorite. We got in touch with a very nice gentlemen that delivered a load of wood. We had plenty and left some for the next guest. Everything was clean and loved the extra soap, trash bags, etc... Beds were comfortable. We had 2 families and still 2 extra bedrooms. Plenty of space. Blue Ridge Mt Rentals goes all out to make sure our stays have been just perfect!

Everything was amazing! The house was super clean, the view is relaxing and the firepit was definitely a plus! Me and my family enjoyed a lot, they have table games inside the closet and all the utensils necessary for cooking and baking. Make sure to have a 4wd car specially if it's snowing, since that area have some steep curves. 5 star experience!

Beautiful Cabin ...gorgeous views, great hot tub and fireplace....and they take dogs! Loved the place, the kitchen was reasonably well stocked and there was plenty of room to spread out. It is a bit of a challenge to get to...definitely don't check in after dark, and try to avoid bad weather the first time, as it is very high up a gravel winding road . But well worth the remoteness.

We totally enjoyed our trip! This house is amazing and it was down the road from where we stayed last year. Everyone had a great time Our grandson enjoyed playing with his dog and all the good trails. We'll definitely be back to rent this house again, it's now our favorite of all we've rented.

We've stayed in a Blue Ridge Mountain Rental twice and from start to finish, communication was seamless! The cabin was spotless and everything worked, from every lightbulb to every appliance. When I called to extend our stay one day, a real person answered the phone! She was so very kind and within two minutes, it was complete. Black Bear Lodge owners have done a fantastic job of stocking this cabin with quality appliances and fixtures. If it's up to me, our family will stay in this house every year! Thank you!

We rented Black Bear Lodge for 4 weeks the month of August. We made an excellent choice in choosing this property! The home is beautiful, spacious, and cozy. The view of the layered mountains is beautiful from the inside and outside! We were very comfortable lounging on the balcony and soaking up the beautiful scenery! The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed, the bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. We never got tired of the beautiful drive to and from the home daily. We will be back to the Black Bear Lodge!

Beautiful property, the log cabin feel was just what we were hoping for; the jacuzzi was an amazing amenity, along with the game room downstairs; the view truly was a million dollar view; the kitchen was well stocked with needed kitchen items; the host was quick to answer any questions we would have; the beds were super comfortable; the google nest in each room was great for each part of our group to adjust temperature as needed; the kitchen table was big enough to fit everyone for breakfast and dinner; the only criticism would be that it is somewhat further away from the city center/ski slopes than we had hoped but it wasn't that bad, only a 20-30 minute drive; the windy road to the house let's you drive through the mountains and we got to see lots of deer and wildlife which was awesome; all in all, our stay was exceptional and we would definitely stay again! This cabin was great! Perfect layout for a large family or a couple of families with kids. The kitchen was well stocked, we didn't miss a thing and the house was prepared perfectly upon our arrival with plenty of towels. It felt very cozy, but was very spacious with lofty ceilings and beautiful beams and wood everywhere in the house. The porch was gorgeous, but there wasn't much of a yard since it is situated on a big hill. However, this offered beautiful views. Thankfully, we came prepared with a lot of food and an F250 because we arrived just as a winter storm was coming in and were stuck in for a couple days. This was actually pretty nice after a lot of travel to get there from Florida and we just enjoyed spending time in the house so much. This was our first time in the area and because of the winter storm, we didn't get around to see too much, but there are plenty of things close by. The roads off of the main roads are winding and steep. We had to go quite slow in the snow and ice but we still managed to get around easily enough. (A 4WD is an absolute must have for the winter!) 20 minutes to Sugar Mountain, another 5 to Banner Elk. 40 minutes to Appalachian Ski Mountain and only about 15 minutes to Hawks Nest tubing. Other things to mention - good Wifi connectivity, Amazon Fire TV, tankless (endless) water heater, lot of games and puzzles to stay busy, plenty of space to spread out but an open floor plan that kept us all feeling connected at the same time. The property managers were excellent and communicated very well about everything in advance and around check in. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely come back to this property.

We had a Wonderful time. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, HUGE, with more than enough room for the family to spread out. Beautiful views from the balconies. Kids loved the fire pit & we had smores a couple of times. The drive up was a bit daunting the first time, but once we got used to it, we actually enjoyed it....remote, yet close to everything we wanted to do in Boone, Blowing Rock, etc. Would definitely consider staying here or with another Blue Ridge Rental in the future.

I rent cabins throughout the year in western NC and the High Country. Black Bear Lodge was the most beautiful cabin, with the best views, I've stayed at in 5 years. Every detail cared for, good WiFi for the mountains (for those of us that need to work) and a top notch rental team! I will absolutely be back to this beautiful home. It was easy to find and hard to leave! :)

The cabin was beautiful, and the view was gorgeous all the time, even when mist covered the hills one day. The great room soars two stories high, with warm pine all around--a perfect environment for our long games of Monopoly and our collaborative jigsaw puzzling. Our father, who has limited mobility, had to negotiate only the front steps, after which he could go to the great room, kitchen, deck, and his bedroom suite without taking any steps. The bathrooms are luxurious, with elegant fittings, piles of thick towels, enclosed toilets, and endless hot water from an in-line heater. (A few grab bars in the main-floor shower and toilet room would be great--installed into the studs, since the other types are dangerous--but of course you don't bill the cabin as appropriate for people with mobility issues). The kitchen and pantry were very well outfitted and easy for three people to work in at a time. (We rolled the two slippery throw-rugs aside, no problem.) The beds were extremely comfortable, with lots of pillows, and the bedrooms had nice, thick curtains to shut out light. We loved sitting on the wraparound deck, listening to the chorus of birds, and on the Fourth of July we saw fireworks below us, far away, all over the valley. The road on which the cabin sits is quiet and tree-covered, a great place to walk so long as you don't mind some hills. We met neighbors and walked with them some days. We especially loved the single-lane gravel route to the cabin, which passes by several lovely old buildings and cuts right through a spic-and-span farm whose goats, chickens, and rabbits unconcernedly ambled in front of our car. I swear one brown rabbit sprawled right in the road and cheerfully waited for us. The Lowes Supermarket in Boone is very good, and you can find some groceries as close as the Dollar General in Foscoe, which has a produce section. Good coffee is in Banner Elk and Boone, as are various restaurants. And of course, the Blue Ridge Parkway can fill many an afternoon.

We are from way way down in South Florida so each year we travel to allow our four kids (ages 17,14,11,&6) to experience the seasons. Our family stayed a week at Black Bear Lodge January 8-13th 2018 and we had a wonderful experience. The cabin was not hard to find and our GPS located it correctly. The roads leading up to the home were a bit scary with tight winding turns at high elevations and a one lane bridge, but there was no snow or ice on the roads. The cabin was clean and beautifully decorated and the view off the back porch was awesome. The weather was rainy for two days so we didn’t get to ski or snow tube this trip, but we all had a great time relaxing. We took little trips out to visit antique shops, mast general store, mystery hill, foggy mountain gem mine, and hiked to see the elk river falls. We stopped at a food lion grocery store and a subway for lunch and everyone we met was super friendly. Overall the trip was perfect, the cabin was perfect, and we wouldn’t change a thing except the weather:) Thank you for another great experience!

We have stayed here 2 times this year and both were so wonderful. We spent 5 days there this spring and again this fall. The cabin is so large and clean. The view will take your breath away. Loved getting up in the morning and having coffee on the deck. At night without all the lights the stars are so beautiful! This is a place that we could only dream about, but being able to rent it every now and then is a dream come true. Thanks for having such a great place where we can bring our 4 legged family member with us. This really makes a difference and keeps the family together. We really enjoyed your pool table! The cabin was all right - just kidding! The cabin was awesome! Great views of the black bears and deer, roaming around. I've never seen our dalmation get along so well with a bear - amazing! It was a great family vacation, we cooked together, sat on the porch and spent some quality time. Hiking and exploring all the trails off the Parkway was our favorite. We saw some beautiful views, probably the best was the view from hot tub looking at the stars on a clear night - Beautiful! This is definitely God's country and your cabin is nestled right in the middle of it. We plan to visit again
