Yearling

We had a short stay at Yearling to celebrate our 24th anniversary. The cabin was secluded, but close enough to hiking and restaurants. Cabin was great for a couple and had all we wanted.

This was the ideal cabin for an anniversary trip. It was very cozy and secluded enough to feel like we weren't surrounded by activity. The accommodations were just right. The kitchen had plenty of things in it for the meals we enjoyed there. The bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. I wish we could transport the rushing creek and moderate temperatures home with us. While it was about a ten to twelve-minute drive to get into downtown Banner Elk, the scenery was so nice that I never tired of it. I would certainly return to the Yearling.

Cabin was immaculate when we arrived. Having the creek right outside the door was a wonderful surprise and the sounds of the water were very relaxing. Well equipped kitchen so cooking was easy. Bed was very comfortable. Will go back again.

Went for our yearly vacation with my fiancé, and had a wonderful time. Although a little far from shopping and food (30+ minutes), the peacefulness and beautiful scenery more than made up for it. One of the best B&B kitchens we've had, two days we did not leave the cabin and were able to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner without hesitation. To top it all off, we were able to see snow two days of the week we were there. Highly recommend sitting in the hot tub while watching the snow fall.

Yearling is a great off the beaten path cabin by the creek yet close enough to activities to keep you entertained.Clean and quaint the cabin provides a warm and homey feeling. The constant rush of the creek gives a relaxing and calming vibe from the back porch.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We needed a place to unwind and relax and this was just right. The cabin was very clean and very well equipped. Everything you might need - groceries, restaurants etc. are within a 20 minute drive. it was quiet and so peaceful. We enjoyed seeing deer and turkey on the property. would definitely rent again if coming to the area. This is our second time renting from Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals and are very happy with them. They respond to any inquiries quickly and work in a friendly and professional manner.

cabin was perfect for what we needed! very clean and nice. commute to blowing rock shopping was a little long but just because of the winding roads. we had a bear on our front porch during the night which was amazing and something I always wanted to experience seeing a bear in the wild!!! Had a great time and would absolutely use cabin again

This cabin defined the idea of convenient isolation in the best way. We could get anywhere we wanted in a reasonable time, but when we were in the cabin for the day, it was the perfect environment to relax without interruption from unwanted noises/people.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Yearling. The cabin was perfect for 2, with all the basics, and very clean. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, watching and listening to the creek flow by. Very peaceful, especially after a day of hiking.

This was our second stay at the Yearling. We missed last year due to Covid. I pastor a church with a school and love the Yearling because it fits my need in a vacation to totally get away with just my wife and me. I searched for a place that was in the woods and a bit isolated. A bubbling stream you could hear from the cabin, one bedroom, clean and comfortable, fireplace. Sitting on the back porch listening to the stream while sipping on a hot cup of coffee. Reading a book down by the stream. Taking long walks down the country gravel road surrounded by God's creation.

Wonderful place to relax and get away! It was very comfortable and clean. The hot tub was VERY clean and well maintained. The location so close to a stream was the cherry on top! It's a spacious and comfortable cabin for being one bedroom. We would come again for sure.

This was a beautiful very secluded cabin. All the “creature comforts” were there for those who like them but we didn’t bother to turn on the TV or radio. The cabin was spectacular. I would plan to have most meals there and bring in food although Banner Elk is a short drive away.

If you are looking for a remote, peaceful, relaxing getaway, The Yearling is it. The decor is tasteful and is just as pictured. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Relaxing in the hot tub and rocking on the back porch listening to the creek was just what we needed. Banner Elk is only 20 mins away with groceries, shopping, and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property if you want to get away from it all.

Exactly as pictured. We loved the stream in the back. It sounded relaxing. We stayed there for 6 nights. We only ate out once. It was perfect for just the 2 of us. The fireplace was out of commission during our stay but it was still enjoyable.

Wonderful 4 day getaway from very busy lives. Perfect size for a couple. Well stocked kitchen for most all of your cooking wants & needs. Enjoyed hiking around the surrounding area, hot tub relaxation, board games & reading by the fireplace. Would love to return to this gem to explore and experience more in the local area.

My wife and I love the out of doors. We wanted a cabin that was secluded, near a running stream, one bedroom and a wood fireplace. The yearling had all that plus very clean and comfortable! The hot tub was a plus. If you want to get away from the cares of this world and be able to shut down and rest and reflect this cabin was built for just that. We have already reserved the Yearling for a week next year!

This cabin topped our expectations. We went to NC for our 34th wedding anniversary. We live in FL and wanted to escape to a cooler location with a change of scenery. How wonderful it was to listen to the creek flowing, sleep with the windows open and hearing the wonderful sounds of nature. The surrounding area was as much of a great experience as the cabin itself. From the local bands playing in the open air, the shops, to the restaurants, all were an experience that could not be more relaxing and enjoyable.
