Welcome to The Velvet Antler Lodge, your perfect mountain getaway in Banner Elk! Ideally located near Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and a short drive from scenic Grandfather Mountain, this inviting cabin is a wonderful home base for families, friends, and even four-legged guests looking to experience the beauty and adventure of the North Carolina High Country.
Spend your days skiing, hiking, fishing, zip-lining, or exploring the many nearby attractions, then come home to relax and enjoy everything this cozy mountain retreat has to offer.
Outside, there are plenty of spaces to gather and unwind. Soak in the private hot tub, tucked behind a privacy fence for a peaceful escape, or settle into the comfortable outdoor seating on the porch. Fire up the gas fire pit, enjoy a meal outdoors, or relax on the porch swing as the mountain air rolls in. The backyard offers even more fun, with a wood-burning fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, a swing, and a cedar playset for the kids.
When it's time for some friendly competition, head inside to the game room for a round of pool, darts, arcade games, pinball, or one of the many board and card games available. Large TVs throughout the home—including a TV on the back deck—make it easy to catch the game, enjoy a movie night, or log into your favorite streaming service.
The home combines comfortable modern conveniences with plenty of mountain character. Rustic touches, antiques, artwork, and thoughtful updates create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home, including both a Keurig and traditional coffee maker, while indoor and outdoor dining spaces give everyone room to gather around the table.
Traveling with pets? This home is ready to welcome the whole family. Thoughtful dog-friendly amenities—including a large adjustable crate, dog bed, bowls, and more—help make traveling with your pup a little easier.
Additional conveniences include a washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, USB and USB-C charging outlets near the beds, and other thoughtful touches designed to make your stay comfortable.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months, when inclement weather may be possible, should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- Firewood for the outside firepit may be purchased from us with minimum 7 days' advance notice, at $25/day. A day's supply is 2 bundles and 1 Firestarter log.
- Stayed with us at The Velvet Antler Lodge before? Be sure to let a reservationist know at the time of booking for 10% off your next visit to this home. (This can not be combined with any other discount or promotion)
- This home has a doorbell camera that faces away from the home to ensure it's security while vacant.
- Garage is not available for guest use.
CANCELLATION POLICY -
Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
