The Golden Retreat

This is an amazing property. I really enjoyed the hot tub which appears to be new. The property was very clean and had all of the things you would need for an amazing stay. It was super quiet and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. The deck is a great place to sit and relax with family. The fire pit is also a great amenity. We will be back. 10 out of 10! 5 Stars for sure!

My family and our dog had a fantastic stay at this beautiful property. The gps worked perfectly to find the house. The check in was super easy. The house was nicely decorated and spotless when we arrived. My favorite amenity of the house was the hot tub which appears to be brand new! It has jets that massage your feet and calves muscles. The property had everything you could possibly need to cook a gourmet meal as well as an excellent grill. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the deck with a great view. There were also lots of deer on the property which my daughter loved. They have a great fire pit to relax beside the hot tub. It was so quiet and peaceful there. The beds were very comfortable and they have tv’s in every room. The location on top of the mountain is great and it is not far from Grandfather mountain and many hiking trails and waterfalls. We can’t wait to return! 10 out of 10! Highly Recommended!

Our second stay at The Golden Retreat was even better than the first! The cabin is spotless, beautifully decorated, and has everything you need. The fully stocked kitchen, cute coffee station, and thoughtful welcome bag with water, snacks, and a local map made us feel right at home. The new 8-person hot tub and fire pit were fantastic additions and made for the perfect relaxing evenings. They also opened up the mountain view since our last visit, and it’s even more beautiful from the deck. If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain getaway with amazing views, great amenities, and hosts who truly think of every detail, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

The quiet private setting of The Golden Retreat provided the perfect escape from the July heat! The house was comfortable and well stocked. We especially enjoyed the scenic view from the deck where each morning we had our coffee and delicious banana bread from our Welcome Bag.

We had the perfect family getaway at The Golden Retreat! The location was perfect, with endless outdoor activities and beautiful scenery to explore throughout our trip.
The home itself was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The full kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the grill was a great bonus for family dinners. Every space was clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully furnished.
Our favorite part was the porch. We spent hours relaxing, taking in the beautiful mountain view, enjoying the mountain air, listening to the birds, and watching deer pass by. It was the perfect place to unplug from city life and take in the beauty of nature.
The combination of breathtaking mountain scenery, endless outdoor adventures, and a cozy place to unwind made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommend!

For me, the fact that there was essentially two master’s with one on same floor as main living area and deck was great! The house is well equipped with everything to cook with and have coffee. Three of the bedrooms had king sized beds with one room having twin beds. This gave us flexibility with the kids. The location was close to town and provided great walks along the road as well as hiking close by. View from the deck was great!

This was a wonderful stay. I appreciated that one of the bedrooms was on the same floor and the living room, kitchen and deck. I loved the ease of walking up the road as an alternative to hiking (although trails are close and very nice). I liked that the house was on a dead end road but still close to "downtown". The house had everything for great cups of coffee and cooking/grilling if you wanted to. The house was spotless and as pictured/advertised. I will definitely come again.

This was a fantastic stay for our family during the holiday season! We enjoyed the peaceful setting which was close enough to shop, ski, and eat while also being quiet and private. The house was exactly as described and came with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The views were incredible and we loved seeing the ski runs from the balcony! We loved our stay at Golden Retreat! The home was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. It is immaculate and very well stocked.
