Description

Welcome to Sweet Retreat! This home, located in the gated community of Sweetgrass, is sure to leave you and your family relaxed and refreshed!

Enter into the main level of the home to be greeted by lovely vaulted ceilings in the open kitchen and living room, beautiful decor, and hardwood floors throughout. Cozy furniture in front of the huge gas fireplace are the perfect place to cuddle up with a good book and relax after a long day of sightseeing and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

The kitchen, complete with stainless appliances, a huge island and a gas range, supplies everything the family chef needs to whip up a great meal! Gather round the beautiful wood dining table that seats 4 to enjoy a family meal. There are also 3 bar-stools at the island for extra seating.

There are 2 bedrooms on the main level of the home, both with queen beds. The Master bedroom, located on the upper level, features a king size bed and a private bathroom. Downstairs you will find 2 more sleeping areas, each with a twin & full size bunk bed. These two rooms share a bathroom.

Also downstairs you will find the ultimate game room that features an air hockey table, another gas fireplace, and more cozy couches to host a fun movie night with friends and family!

There is no shortage of outdoor living at Sweet Retreat! Step outside onto the huge decks and enjoy the crisp mountain air while sitting by a fire in the stacked-stone wood burning fireplace with rocking chairs in front! ABOUT SWEETGRASS
Within the neighborhood is Boone Fork Creek, which winds through the middle of Sweetgrass and has been designated as a North Carolina Outstanding Trout Stream. Just a little ways up the road at the heart of SweetGrass is the 22-acre lake fed by Boone Fork Creek! Bring your own canoes/kayaks and paddles to enjoy this beautiful lake!

Sweetgrass features beautiful mountain vistas, a lake and stream, and miles of pristine mountain trails which are perfect for hiking, riding, and biking. At Sweetgrass you'll find a mountain playground like no other. Here, each season brings with it something spectacular. The springtime is ablaze with wildflowers, the summers are filled with warm days and cool nights which are perfect for daytime outdoor adventures and evenings around the firepit, fall's foliage is absolutely stunning, and the snows of winter transform the area into a picturesque winter wonderland.

Each season is perfect for outdoor recreation, but there is much more to do here than simply enjoy the splendor of nature. There are also a variety of festivals, community events, upscale shops, and gourmet restaurants to enjoy in Blowing Rock. Combining the welcoming mountain living of Sweet Retreat, Sweetgrass, and Blowing Rock will enable you to enjoy a lifestyle that is unrivaled by that of any other High Country location.

Located just 2 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 minutes from Main Street Blowing Rock, 15 minutes from Tweetsie Railroad Theme Park and Appalachian Ski Resort, 20 minutes from Boone and Grandfather Mountain, 30 minutes to Hawksnest and Sugar Mountain, you may find that Sweet Retreat is your new favorite place to call home.

Important Notes:
- Sweetgrass is an environmentally conscious community that observes a catch and release fishing policy to ensure a sustained fish population.
- The Sweetgrass neighborhood is a peaceful haven, and therefore does not permit firearm discharge, fireworks, golf carts, dirt bikes, four wheelers, loud music, or other objectionable noises that disrupts the quiet enjoyment of the natural environment. During quiet hours (10PM – 8AM), all outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum.
- Rental guests have access to the grounds around the lake house, all hiking trails, and may fish in the lake. Guests are not permitted inside the lake house or on its patio. ATVs are not permitted on the hiking trails.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This home is dog friendly! Max of two (2) mature, well-trained dogs with a pet fee of $25/nt per pet plus tax.
-CANCELLATION POLICY: STRICT: Cancellations 60+ days prior to arrival receive a full refund minus the $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival will not be refunded unless the dates are rebooked to another traveler.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was clean, had a well equipped in the kitchen (used the Instapot for Beef Stew!) and there is an outdoor fireplace with TV that we enjoyed for two nights. We had an issue with the basement fireplace and they sent a lovely young man out to fix it for us the next day. I highly recommend this property.

What a wonderful cabin in the woods! This home is so cozy and comfortable! We enjoyed walks everyday in the neighborhood and loved the beautiful lake. The porch was fantastic for our nightly fires. The kids especially loved the air hockey table and bunk beds in the basement! We had such a wonderful and hope to be back.

Fantastic house for a big family. Very spacious with everything you need. Loved the hiking trails within the community (including one right beside the house!). Quick 15 minute drive to downtown blowing rock, and even closer to the BRP.

The only problem we had was with the TV not working properly. We called the rental agency and they sent someone out to fix that problem. Beautiful place. Loved quietness of the area , the lake, and the trails.

Great family experience. Plenty of room in a quiet mountain setting. Kids enjoyed fishing in lake and really enjoyed our nightly fire in outdoor fireplace making semores. Best of all was making family memories.

First let me say that overall the stay was great. The property is beautiful and the location is perfect. That said, the only drawback Was that the living room couch had a lot of crumbs and pet hair under the cushions. This was a particular problem for us because my four-year-old grandson is allergic to dogs and developed some hives. Fortunately nothing serious but you might pass this on to your cleaners

The house is beautiful and very well appointed. Quiet, gorgeous neighborhhod on the outskirts of downtown BR. Mattresses were great and layout was really nice. Bedrooms were all a decent size. We enjoyed the outdoor gireplace and TV. Would definitely come again.

We arrived on a Friday evening left on Monday morning the house was great. Five bedrooms and 3 bathrooms the two downstairs rooms had a full bed on bottom and single bunk above. Our friends with small children thought the layout was great. They had everything you'd need for a quick getaway we explored blowing rock and boone which it's close to and went to ski beach was a fun time would definitely stay again thanks for having us.

Wow wow wow! We had such a memorable vacation. We were two families with little kids. The bottom floor was essentially a game room and the kids were entertained for hours on end. Fully stocked with Nintendo wii and games, dvds, air hockey table... it was so much fun for them. The main floor was all open with a full stocked kitchen beautifully decorated with all stainless steel appliances and a coffee station (bring K cups or coffee)
The view is gorgeous, the fireplace area outside was cozy amd more than we expected. There were trails next to the cabin and around the community. the cabin is inside a private community which was a huge plus for us, yet still private and spacious between cabins so you still feel secluded.
Can’t wait to go back.

Very nice house with beautiful outdoor space and cozy vibe. Reasonably close to a lot of beautiful hiking and snowsports. Kitchen is well stocked. Great spaces for kids and grownups. On the pricey side but overall reasonable for what you get.

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY.. LOTS OF ROOM FOR OUR FAMILY OF 10. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE SPECIAL TRIP TO THE STORE FOR NECESSITIES LIKE HAND SOAP, TOILET PAPER, WASHING POWDER, BAR SOAP.

The property is as expected! Amazing. The upstairs master with massive bathroom was fantastic! The outdoor fireplace with TV was so much fun. We found out snow was expected, so we planned ahead and got plenty of food and beverages! The indoor gas fireplace kept pur family nice and toasty!

Amazing customer service! Amy went out of her way to help to help me find a place (Sweet Retreat) on short noticeably during a very busy weekend! The house was awesome and in a beautiful neighborhood. I would highly recommend and use again in the future!
