There are some places that instantly invite you to slow down.
Where mornings begin with the gentle murmur of a mountain creek. Where cool breezes drift through the trees, coffee tastes a little better on the deck, and evenings are spent beneath a sky full of stars gathered around a crackling fire.
Welcome to your own peaceful corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains at Mill Timber Lodge.
Tucked away just outside the charming mountain town of Newland, this beautifully appointed three-bedroom retreat offers the perfect blend of modern comfort and natural beauty. Vaulted ceilings, warm wood accents, and thoughtfully designed living spaces create an atmosphere that feels both spacious and wonderfully cozy: the kind of place where time seems to move a little slower.
The heart of the home is an inviting open living area where everyone naturally comes together. Prepare memorable meals in the fully equipped kitchen, gather around the dining table to share stories from the day's adventures, or settle in for a relaxing evening with your favorite movie as the electric fireplace adds a warm mountain ambiance. Enjoy making lifelong memories with the kids upstairs in the loft as you challenge each other to games of PacMan and Galaga on the arcade!
When it's time to unwind, the primary King suite becomes a private sanctuary. Wake to peaceful creek views, step directly onto your private deck, and let the soothing sound of flowing water become the soundtrack to your mountain getaway. The spa-inspired ensuite bath provides the perfect place to relax after a day spent exploring the High Country. Down the hall are two more dreamy escapes, one with a Queen bed and the other with a Double bed and single Twin bed, and these rooms share a second beautiful bathroom.
Outside is where this home truly shines. Spend lazy afternoons stretched out in the hammock with a good book, grill dinner while the creek flows nearby, enjoy meals in the fresh mountain air, watch fireflies dance as you enjoy the cool air at the gas firetable, or gather around the wood burning fire pit down on the banks of Mill Creek as the evening settles over the valley. Every outdoor space has been designed to help you disconnect from busy schedules and reconnect with the people who matter most.
Whether you're chasing waterfalls, hiking scenic mountain trails, skiing fresh powder, discovering local wineries, or simply exploring the shops and restaurants of Banner Elk, Linville, and Newland, you'll find some of the High Country's favorite destinations just a short drive away. Then, when the day is done, you'll return to the quiet comfort of your own creekside retreat.
Perfect for families, couples, and friends alike, the home is thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including high-speed Wi-Fi, Smart TVs with premium streaming services, a fully stocked kitchen, family-friendly amenities, and convenient self check-in.
Come breathe the cool mountain air. Listen to the creek. Watch the stars appear one by one. The mountains have a way of helping you remember what it feels like to truly relax, and Mill Timber Lodge is waiting for you.
