The huge wrap around deck is the best part of the cabin. Spent hours each day and the view is like being in a tree house. Filled the humming bird feeder and those birds were there every 3-5 minutes. Filled the bird feeder and loved the cardinals and blue jays. Just communing with nature. It is a bit distance from the must see sites but that did not have a negative impact on our stay. Loved it !!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fox’s Lair. This was just a family (of 5) quick ski/visit weekend. Our 2 college kids claimed the two upstairs bedrooms, while our 14 year old happily claimed one of the sofas. It was perfect for us, and the ability to bring our 1 year old Boykin Spaniel along, to surprise our App State daughter, was icing on the cake!! Perfect accommodations and a wonderful getaway weekend! Just wish we could have stayed longer!!

Great property with a nice open layout, great view and parking for at least 3-4 cars. For the cost this place was an incredible value. No hot tub, but that explains why not as expensive. Only a 15-20 minute drive to either downtown Boone or to Sugar Mountain to ski. The rental company was very easy to work with and very responsive. Easy process. Would highly recommend the place for a family of 4 or if have a few friends/couples that want to enjoy the mountains. The 2 full beds upstairs might be a little tight for a couple but I slept well as a single in the beds upstairs. King bed downstairs has a great layout and true master feel which is nice.

We absolutely loved this log cabin, the location and our experience here. It had the look and feel of exactly what you would picture out of a Field and Steam magazine. Made for a great Christmas break. Everything was available that was needed and everything worked perfectly. The layout is such that you can spread out and everybody is not on top of each other but yet it still feels warm and cozy. We had five adults, an infant and a two-year-old and there was more than plenty of space. Convenient to get to town and the slopes but still remote enough that you don’t feel like you’re staying in town. We will definitely will be back and will specifically request this cabin! They have done a great job with it!

The check in process was simple, however I would have preferred code access to door lock as many previous rentals we’ve stayed at instead of going to an office to pick up keys. But they did allow a check in 1 1/2 hours before normal time so…
The cabin was more adult appropriate, as there were no games, books, or anything for children to do. We had our grandchildren ages 4 and 9 with us, and no yard was appropriate for outside play. The cabin was comfortable, the fireplace was the most enjoyed feature. Open floor plan was wonderful. We would concider renting again, however not with children.

We enjoyed our stay so much at this wonderful cabin. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We observed wildlife like deer, foxes and many birds from the huge deck. This cabin is so close to so many attractions and right around the corner from the Mast General Store. The interior layout is so open and accomodating. We would love to come back here.

The experience with Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals was top notch from the booking, email correspondence, check-in, stay in the cabin, and check-out. We had a minor issue we noted on the evaluation form and turned in with our keys at checkout. We said we would call to explain, but the office reached out to us with concern before we even called. They were genuinely concerned and willing to hear any suggestions to make their customers comfortable. The cabin was clean, mattresses were great, kitchen was stocked well, and the deck was awesome. We had family from several states come together and it was a trip we’ll always remember. Overall great experience!

Fox's Lair was just what the doctor ordered for our family! It is a beautiful cabin, with amazing surroundings, nestled in the mountainside. The family and I booked several places to stay and this was one of them. LOVED the open space for all of us to spend time together. This home quickly became the go to place for meals and game night. They have a great deck just off the living area and another down from that one that the teens hung out on. Loved the little creek nearby and could hear it from the deck. Great size rooms and the management was great. We will definitely be back!

We selected this VRBO for our 14th wedding anniversary trip. The setting was wonderful and relaxing. The VRBO neighborhood was remote, peaceful but restaurants and shopping were only 10 to 15 minutes away. Cleanliness in the VRBO was essential to us. We were not disappointed. The interior was comfortable, cozy furniture and the family area had a large wood burning fireplace. Being summertime, we did not need that but there was a large pile of cut wood to use if needed. The very large back deck was great facing out to a wooded area. The deck was a great place to sip on morning coffee. We hope to return at some point!

The cabin was located in a nice neighborhood that was convenient to area attractions and restaurants. It was the perfect place for our two dogs since it has a large yard. The decor in the cabin is odd and dated, but really didn't matter to us. I definitely did not want to leave this peaceful paradise!

This is a BEAUTIFUL cabin and we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. This is a very spacious cabin. I do recommend that you take pillows. The hot water doesn't last very long but does recover fairly quickly. We truly had no complaints other than those two issues which were so minor that we didn't even mention. The cabin was far enough away from everything that it was quiet but close enough that if you needed anything it was only a matter of 10 to 15 minutes to get to a store or restaurant. We would definitely like to go back to this cabin in the future. My 8 year old was ready to move in after the first night. We all fell in love!!

We had an amazing weekend in the perfect setting. The cabin was beautiful and spotless when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable with big rooms. The fireplace was wonderful and the perfect place for us to pile up and enjoy our time together when the rain drove us indoors. It was way better than we expected and like being in our own treehouse.

What a beautiful cabin! We had the perfect girl’s weekend in the perfect cabin. Spacious, clean, convenient and well suited for our trip. The open concept kitchen, dining area and living room with the huge fireplace was just what we needed for our time together. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Private but close to everything in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. It felt like we were in our own private tree house! The staff was amazing and check-in was a breeze.

This cabin was absolutely perfect for a family weekend away! We stayed with another family, and even with four kids and four adults there was plenty of space. Everything was very modern and comfortable, and actually better in person than in the pictures. We would definitely come here again!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Fox's Lair. The deck and living areas are spacious and just as pictured. Lots of privacy, easy to get to, very clean and well maintained. We would stay here again.

I suprised my husband with a weekend getaway for Father'sDay. This with the perfect home and location to get away from it all! We have 5 children ages 16,15,14,12 and 8. We enjoyed numerous games of hide-n-seek and several walks down to the stream right off the back deck. It was amazing to sit and listen to the nature in the early morning hours. My kids never once reached for their phones the entire trip!!! You are secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet yet close enough to it all. We visited The Mast General Store, Linville Cavern and Falls and Grandfather Mountain. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed. It was truly home away from home. We definitely recommend and will be returning. Thank you for sharing hour home with us
