We loved everything about this house. Much better than expected. The house is beautifully done, the land surrounding the house was fun to explore. The kids loved the deer everywhere. And they came to close to us it was crazy. Fun hiking trails within walking distance. Short drive to some really cool trails leading to waterfalls. Thank you for letting us call your home ours for a week! We will miss Beech Mountain!

The property was in a great location, well described, and well appointed. The rental experience was very easy and communication was great. Our kids were able to hand feed wild deer! That is a very unique experience. Our older teenagers loved the fire pit, swings, and amenities. The rest of us enjoyed the peace, comfortable beds and kitchen.

The location is great and close to Beech Mountain. The house is located in the middle of a neighborhood, surrounded by the forest. The kids loved the downstairs area and the hot tub. It's a very dog-friendly rental with waste bags and treats stocked on the main floor. The dog cage was much-appreciated as we didn't have to bring ours. I would absolutely stay there again.

Fern Leaf Lodge is a gem! Beautiful house, nice hot tub, plenty of sleeping places, and we loved all the little touches. Location is very convenient to Banner Elk, Beech Mtn and the Alpine Wilderness coaster.

Best stay ever! Every added amenity you could think of. My 4YO loved the deer corn and s’more stuff. The house was immaculate and beautifully kept. We so Appreciated the fully loaded kitchen, games, and dog/baby stuff. Great for families. BOOK IT!

Home was amazing! Kids loved the hot tub with lights at night, the front sitting area was so nice to have a meal, wine , coffee or just hang out. So much wildlife and she even had deer corn for the kids to feed the deer.

Wonderful location on the mountain: just getting there is an amazing trip! The house offers everything you need. We cooked a full breakfast and dinner for 11. Plenty of space and entertainment options for the entire family. We loved it!

This home is very spacious and absolutely beautiful. It slept our party of 11 with ease. The hot tub and game room are an excellent bonus as well. If you're into wildlife, there were deer all over the mountain and most would eat right out of your hand. We would definitely go back! Just be sure your vehicle is up for the mountain driving, it's a very steep climb to get up to this home.

This location is a hidden gem. The availability of baby items (high chair, pack and play, etc.) made this trip extremely enjoyable and stress free. The owner stays in contact with you and there are so many helpful tips that are left around the house (like places to visit, or how to operate certain appliances in the house). Very thankful to have had the opportunity to stay here with my family.

Honestly, I usually try and give the most honest and quick review I can for Airbnb hosts… BUT, this was BY FAR the best Airbnb I have ever been in (and I have been in A LOT of airbnbs all over the world), so I felt is was worthy of me taking my time and giving a full and detailed review. The house was GORGEOUS, every single detail added to the walls or rooms were very thought out and not just thrown up. It felt like I was in someone’s home. It had everything you needed (and more) - down to makeup removal wipes, wet wipes, down to a screwdriver we needed for our snowboards. It was also the cleanest one I’ve been in. It felt like I was in a brand new home. Check-in was very easy, and communication was great. Our host even set out AMAZING treats for us and a card to welcome us. This is not something they have to do, nor do they have to go THIS big, but it was clearly something that took time and effort. Mary was awesome and very available. The beds and pillows were so comfortable - usually you leave and want to get home to your own bed, but I was completely content in these beds or even the downstairs couch! It was plenty spacious. We were supposed to have about 12 friends/couples and 3 dogs (which she allowed being 2 were service animals) and although it only ended up being 7, it definitely would have housed that many people (as long as room sharing isn’t an issue). Hot tub was hot and SO relaxing, all kitchen utensils plus so much more were able to be used in the kitchen. Bathrooms had what you needed and plenty of towels for shower and hot tubs, we each even had our own robes! It was setup so great for dogs… even had dog towels and blankets. Also blankets… it’s cold and we had enough comfy blankets for an army! Mary even let us check in early AND out late since she is deep cleaning in between for Covid, which was VERY helpful with how many people we had and dogs. It was very very close to beech mountain ski resort - so easy to get up and down. I would recommend 4x4 AWD for driveway. We had one jeep with 4x4 slide a little down but emergency break caught her. But my truck, and Audi suv and another smaller truck had zero issues with 4 wheel drive. Even if you are worried, there is salt and flat places for people to park, not even having to go up the driveway. I could really keep going on and on, but I’ll end this with, I am already looking to book next year. I have ZERO complaints and cannot wait to visit this beautiful home again. The best cabin in Beech Mountain, so clean! My kids fell in love with the snow, they played all day in the backyard in the snow. And Mary is so nice, communication was really good, always available for any problems that may have happen during our stay! We hope to come back soon!!

Mary’s house is perfect for a family vacation. My grandchildren enjoyed their stay very much. Even though it did not snow, the slopes had snow and they took skiing lessons and loved the sledding slope. The house has everything both for adults and children. Mary left Christmas treats for us which was a nice touch as we arrived tired and hungry. I would definitely like to return for another vacation.

Fern Leaf Lodge is a delightful retreat! The easy access and main floor suites were perfect for our parents to enjoy and the downstairs was a little retreat in itself. Mary has thought of EVERYTHING! She has everything you could need. One of our highlights was being able to feed the deer and enjoy their company while we relaxed on the front porch. We especially loved that we could bring the whole family - dogs too!

We loved our stay at Fern Leaf Lodge! We booked last minute for a birthday getaway and couldn’t be happier that we found this gem! The home was spotless and the beds were so comfortable! We enjoyed morning and evening on the deck with the fireplace and either a cup of tea or a glass of wine! We loved feeding the deer! Kismet(our dog) was wanting to chase them but we kept her at bay! We enjoyed the hot tub too! While there were only two of us, this lodge is so spacious and has several bedrooms and beds for a large family reunion or a few families. It was convenient to Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain and Boone. Thank you Mary for your hospitality and attention to detail, you took care of everything we needed and more!

Our stay at Mary's home was wonderful. The house is immaculate, and she provided so many extras that made our stay so much more enjoyable. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything one would need to feel at home. Clean towels, plenty of blankets and even some special treats were just some of the extras we all enjoyed. Fern Leaf Lodge is an absolute gem! There was plenty of space for our group (3 families) while still feeling cozy. We brought our 2 year old and 9 mo. old which was made easier by various toddler/baby amenities already on site. Mary is incredibly thoughtful and the house is well-stocked for a comfortable getaway. It is also nearby various hiking trails. The short Upper Pond Creek Trail was perfect for our group with little ones. We ran into a couple challenges during our stay, and Mary was extremely responsive and attentive to help address them. Would absolutely recommend staying here, especially for families. We hope to come again!

Mary’s cabin is perfect! We stayed for a week with another family and there was plenty of room for all of us with kiddos! Mary left us some snacks and goodies plus all the fixings for s’mores which were a huge hit. The cabin was immaculate and we he had everything we needed. Another thing that we all enjoyed were the deer. They are everywhere and if you leave some corn out for them they’ll come snack and hang close to the cabin. What a wonderful experience in a beautiful location nestled in Beech Mountain. The pictures do not do the house or the view justice. The house was spacious with a lot of beds, plenty of comfy sheets/throw blankets, towels, etc. At home touches, such as, thoughtful fruit and snacks, well stocked kitchen, large washer/dryer with plenty of space to hang dry clothes if desired, and plenty of wood for the outdoor fire pit. The downstairs area was great for our family to connect with foosball, games, books, and a large comfy couch. Mary is amazing, she’s responsive usually within minutes, reached out during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed, and provided great suggestions for outdoor adventures. Of special note, Mary had a large can of deer corn that was heavily utilized by our kiddo for up close encounters with woodland friends. Easily one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in. Would definitely come back during fall and winter to hike and/or do snow adventures!

This place is so cozy! The hostess is amazing, she left food in the fridge because she figured we would be hungry after the long drive. The bedrooms are perfect and the two family rooms ideal for our group. I would highly recommend this place. If I ever go back to Mt. Beech I will definitely stay in Mary's lodge.

The cabin is much prettier in person than it is in pictures. It truly exceeded my expectations. Mary has a kind and warm soul. I will not go anywhere else other than back to Mary’s cabin next year. I can’t give enough compliments about the home and the host, Mary. Exceptional communication and quick to response to questions. The home so spacious! There were 12 of us that went up to the mountain to spend Thanksgiving week. We never felt crowded at any point. There is so many beds that we didn’t even have to use the 2 single beds on the top floor. She has everything you may need and everything is well organized and labeled. You just need to buy groceries and you’re all set. She even had baby gates and a pack n play to use if needed. She had basic shampoo, body wash and some toiletries available. There was s’mores kit for us to use, which we enjoyed every night by the fire pit. Our favorite part was the deer food because the kids got to see and feed deers every day. We truly enjoyed hanging out Ans playing games in the basement. We can’t wait to be back hopefully in the summer.

The house is beautiful, airy and spacious! We especially loved the fire pit outside and the game room downstairs. We had multiple foosball matches, and the couch in the game room is roomy and comfy and perfect for everyone to curl up and watch a movie together after a day of hiking outside. The house, and the surrounding area, is so peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay here.
