Description
Welcome to Carolina Wren Cottage! Named for a charming local songbird, this property is located in the new High Hemlock community 15 minutes from Main Street Blowing Rock, and is surrounded by trees providing a calming setting. Perfect for a mountain getaway with friends or family!

Please note that as of mid-May 2024, there are 2 new homes being built on this street, including one on the lot immediately next door. Construction noises may be heard Mon-Sat during daylight hours. 

Upon entering Carolina Wren Cottage you will be greeted with a lovely open floor plan between the two bedrooms, living room and kitchen area. The living room is furnished with 4 leather recliners, a gas-log fireplace and a flat screen TV above. The kitchen has a spacious feel and offers brand new appliances, granite counters, and a Keurig coffee maker for all the coffee lovers out there! Pops of color throughout the cabin are sure to bring a smile to everyone's face. 

There are two bedroom suites here. The master bedroom features a King bed, flat screen TV and a full bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. The second bedroom at the other end of the cabin is nearly identical with a Queen bed, flat screen TV and also has it's own full bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. As an added luxury element, both bathrooms have heated floors. 

Step outside onto the back deck to enjoy a cool evening, and enjoy a dip in the Bullfrog Spas hot tub. Listen to all that nature brings to the High Country of North Carolina and soak it in. Carolina Wren Cottage is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and energized! 

Carolina Wren Cottage is just a 7 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway outside Blowing Rock, and from there there it's a short and beautiful drive to some of the best scenery on the entire Parkway. This property is also about 10 minutes to the beautiful West Glow Spa, 25 minutes to Grandfather Mountain and 30 minutes to downtown Boone! Call us today to book this beautiful home!

This property is accessed via all paved roads and are easy to navigate. AWD or 4WD vehicle may be necessary in the winter months. 
For guests seeking additional accommodation, please consider Treetops Cabin next door. 

Additional Notes:
-Firewood for the outside firepit may be purchased from our office with at least 7 days advance notice. You will receive two kiln-dried bundles and one Firestarter log for $25/nt. 

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
-This home allows up to 2 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25.00 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- This homeowner has one exterior security camera, mounted above the front door looking out towards the street. There are no other cameras at the property. 
-CANCELLATION POLICY: STRICT: Cancellations 60+ days prior to arrival receive a full refund minus the $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival will not be refunded unless the dates are rebooked to another traveler.

Such as hair dryer, clothing iron, ironing board. And unfortunately, we could not find a pen provided to use to enter in the quest book and we did not bring one either. LOL. Anyway, thank you for providing. The Harringtons.

The pictures do the cabin no justice!!! The location is great - not too far away from Blowing Rock, but far enough to give good privacy! Loved the heated floors, the hot tub was a winner, and the gas fireplace was used daily! Everything was so clean and the help notes were perfect! We definitely plan on visiting again and will recommend to friends and family!!! Thank you for making this such a great experience!!!

The cabin was super nice. It’s quiet and private. The hot tub out back is great. I could live there. Some improvements would be softer mattresses. The king bed is hard as a rock. I think ceiling fans would be nice. I think black out shades would’ve been a better choice. The drive to the cabin is on a difficult (switch backs) road so we had to do more planning ahead for food than we realized. The restaurants in Blowing Rock mostly need reservations (especially on the weekend!) which I didn’t realize until we got there. Had a great weekend!

Communication with the host wasn't needed during our trip - probably because all of the up front info provided was so detailed. We found the spot to be perfect for 2 people and a dog but could have easily accommodated 2 more. We will definitely come back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is charming and beautifully decorated, giving it the feel of a real mountain home. The owners were so thoughtful about providing all the amenities you need for a stay in the mountains. The heated bathroom floors were awesome and the hot tub was heavenly. Moreover, the Blue Ridge Rentals staff was responsive and very helpful. Highly recommend staying at this place - will definitely return.

Lovely getaway for my husband and me. Pics were accurate. I missed the heated bathroom floors, if that was in the description, so that was a nice surprise. WiFi was a bit spotty (and cell service all over Blowing Rock really) but I suppose that’s to be expected in the mountains. This place had a nice cedar smell too! It didn’t have laundry detergent, so we had to buy that, but otherwise, very well equipped. Would definitely recommend!
