Experience the luxury of Bitter Sweet with a retreat of your own. This gorgeous home outside of Blowing Rock has it all. Three bedrooms means space for everyone and the lovely furnishing and finishing of this home will take your breath away. Situated adjacent to national forests, so privacy abounds.
This stunning home has three levels with a private bed and bath on each level. The main level has the living room with lofted ceilings and wood burning fireplace. All TVs, including the one in the living room, have Spectrum TV with a full Gigabyte of speed for maximum viewing. An extra long sofa and two recliners give places to be together. The kitchen and dining are each near the living room, along with a half bath. The kitchen has a La Cornue gas range and Thermador stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and a Keurig and Espresso maker to start your day. The main level bedroom has a queen sized bed and two pull out singles, along with a 65" smart TV, deck access, and private full bath with a tiled tub/shower and granite countertops (please note that the photos still show a king sleeper sofa, which has been removed to add the queen bed). The covered back deck has dining, seating, and a Solo Stove for an evening fire outside.
Upstairs is a King suite, also with a 65" smart TV, and a luxurious full bath. The oversized tiled shower has separate rooms to each side with a granite vanity and personal powder room. On the lower level, there is a king suite with a pull out single and a full bath with a large tiled shower and deck access. The washer and dryer are located on the lower level, near the entrance by the garage.
Enjoy the firepit patio with Adirondack seating, and the newly installed hot tub that is privately located next to the home, ready for you to soak away the evening.

- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking under "Additional Fees" after entering payment info or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months.
- Please note that this homeowner uses outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure their home stays safe. One camera is outside at the front door facing the the entrance, and the other one is outside at the bottom driveway facing the bottom driveway only! NO cameras monitor the inside of the home.
- Repeat renters at Bitter Sweet can receive a 5% discount. Not to be stacked with any other discounts.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled within 24 hours of their creation will receive a full refund of payments. Bookings canceled more than 24 hours after their creation are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

We visit this beautiful property (Bittersweet) every year. The home is super clean and cozy, the beds are very comfortable, and the home has everything we need for our family. We love that the property is located close to shops and restaurants, skiing, and Bass Lake, our favorite spot. Location - perfect, as it's a short drive to downtown BR, yet offers a quiet and peaceful setting. Great hiking very close by at Cone Manor. Home - just a very comfortable home, nicely decorated and well done. A great kitchen, well stocked with good pots & pans, spices, etc. We use VRBO a lot and we've often surprised when the pans are way past their useful life, but that's not the case here. There is a wonderful fireplace that we thoroughly enjoyed on a wet January Sunday. Management / Owner - very accessible and friendly. This is a beautiful property, well maintained, and in a perfect location for exploring Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and surrounding areas. We hiked during the day, enjoyed the hot tub and dining on the outdoor porch. The linens are nice and the kitchen is well stocked. Delightful home, tastefully decorated. Lots of natural light on 1st & 2nd floor. Lower level BR gets less light than rest of house and gets a bit warm, but that suited us fine. Upstairs is master BR and 2 BAs plus large shower. with huge shower. su of lot of natural light & got very warm, but suited our 16 y.o. well.
