Big Bear Lodge at Eagles Nest

Beautiful home with mountainous views and the trickle of the nearby creek set a relaxing tone. Kitchen is stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans and other things you could need for cooking. The grill worked great too. Everything was clean and some firewood was provided. The cabin is uniquely built and lovely to look at. Lots of space. Hot tub was great. Claw bathtub in the upstairs primary was clutch. Bring bubble bath or epsom salt. Lighting was a bit dim in some rooms but would definitely stay again. Highly recommend shopping at the Dollar General in the neighborhood. It’s the first cashless store w NO employee. It was very cool. If you eat at the restaurant in the neighborhood, remember to respect the dress code or you will feel underdressed. Would stay again.

Our stay was wonderful! We came for a short family getaway. The views of the mountains were spectacular. The home was beautifully furnished, had plenty of seating and entertainment, a fully supplied kitchen (for cooking utensils), and was immaculately clean. The property was highly responsive and communicative.

This cabin is huge but still cozy. Great layout for a bigger family. Our teen loved having her own master suite. Our younger children enjoyed hide and seek around the home. The owner called us about a critter issue after hearing about it from the rental company (it is the mountains after all) she was very kind and concerned. The rental company, however, was a little frustrating. We asked to extend our stay and was told the property was available. We made plans to do so and then found out from the rental agency that it actually wasn’t possible. Very annoying after hiring a pet sitter and rental vehicle ( needed AWD) for extra time. We got snowed it for a day and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to be stuck. Gorgeous views and great family bonding.

Amazing home, more beautiful than the pictures... Well equipped with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen... This home is located far up on the mountain with great views. Most beautiful home around and Def need 4x4/AWD if snowing. We had a wonderful time and will be back. Highly recommend.

Fantastic home perfect for our friends’ weekend. Gorgeous property and views in a quiet gated community. I’ve traveled to the Boone/Banner Elk area for my entire life and this is the best spot we’ve stayed. Photos don’t do it justice!

Magnificent home and view. Bedding and floors were clean but the home is in need of a deep cleaning ( dirty dishes on arrival and surfaces very dusty) Pets are allowed in this home, and we did take our small dog… which was nice for us as he is apart of the family. With pets being allowed it is evident that some pets have been had accidents in the home and they haven’t been cleaned up correctly as the carpeted areas and entrance to the home smell musty and like animal urine. Overall once we cleaned the home to make ourselves feel more comfortable, we enjoyed our stay.

We had a blast staying here!! Everything on property was just as advertised. Disappointed in VRBO’s description of location. The map that you click on to view this location is not close to where this house is at all!! VRBO needs to correct this and provide a more accurate location. This house is located closer to Banner Elk. Again great accommodations and house!! But location was very misrepresented!!

Great stay at bear lodge. Met up with some friends for a ski weekend, and even though it was rainy and warm, we still made use of all the amenities on the property and the neighborhood , which were outstanding. Spacious house, great for a big group with lots of kids. Would definitely come back

Awesome stay at Big Bear Lodge for Christmas holiday, with lots of snow on Christmas morning! The house is so beautiful and very well appointed, with lots of attention to detail. We had 8 adults - plenty of room for all. Loved the hot tub, pool table, fires in the fireplaces throughout the house, playing games at the big table. Kitchen has everything you'll need. Would definitely come back!

Pictures don't do this house justice. Everything about the house was exceptional. Only issue we had was the dishwasher not working properly but that didn't affect our trip at all. We will definitely be back to Big Bear Lodge!

This property was amazing! Stocked full of all you need for your stay. If you enjoy art Eagles Nest community will touch your soul. Property was extremely clean but there was some pet toys and other things under the kitchen table that would have been hard for the cleaning crew to see. Amazing views and plenty of spots to sit and savor the beauty. I will be back.

Big Bear Lodge exceeded all our expectations! I could not get over how well kept everything was, and all the amenities from Eagles Nest made our vacation wonderful! The house looked better in person, and the kids loved the lowest floor! Pool, Xbox, and other amazing games kept them occupied the entire time, which was a win for us! Wow! I have been a high end luxury commercial and residential builder for over 20 years! You truly have an amazing home! Details such as the back wall is much appreciated! I also own a NASCAR team and each year our family gets away super bowl weekend before our super bowl begins “Daytona”.

Beautiful home in a fabulous setting. Amazing views. Knew we would be too early for fall foliage, but the cool weather was certainly welcome. Close to incredible sights, great dining, and friendly people. We’ll certainly be back.

This was an amazing family vacation! We did so many things! It snowed too! We went sledding down a steep hill and built 3 snowmen. On a 1 to 10 scale we give this vacation a 10!! We hope we can come back soon!

By the way, we rented the Big Bear Lodge for my son’s wedding at Linville Ridge, and the home was even more beautiful and amazing in person. We had a great time staying at Big Bear Lodge with our family, and everyone came away impressed by the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed their stay there. It was truly a magical time in our lives, and staying at the Big Bear Lodge made the entire experience a memorable one for us all. You are closer to heaven when you are at Big Bear Lodge! Spectacular views, super accommodations in Banner Elk. Each and every restaurant served incredibly delicious food. Grandfather Mountain is a must see. Take many pictures. Our time at Big Bear Lodge will always be a significant memorable time for our family.
