Our family of 5 stayed for a four night visit and loved our time at Bear Down Lodge. The house was comfortable and nicely decorated with beautiful views. The kitchen had every tool we needed to cook family meals and we enjoyed movies and games by the fireplaces at night.

Just got back from an amazing family getaway at Bear Down Lodge at Eagles Nest! Our family of six absolutely loved it. The house was spotless and had everything we needed—every kitchen gadget, dish, and utensil you could think of. The two-story living room was gorgeous, and the huge back deck with its fireplace was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The kids had a blast wandering through the woods behind the house and checking out the creeks and trails in the neighborhood. Eagles Nest is such a great community—quiet and luxurious, but with plenty of amenities and outdoor activities to keep everyone happy. We're from the Charlotte area, so the drive was super easy, and the location is perfect—just minutes from Sugar and Beech Mountains. We're already planning to come back this winter for some snow fun! If you're looking for a beautiful mountain escape, Bear Down Lodge at Eagles Nest is the place to be!

We have stayed at Eagles Nest once before and knew we wanted to get back soon. It's a really charming community and such an easy trip from Charlotte. This time we rented a house called “Bear Down Lodge at Eagles Nest.” I'm not sure if it is a brand new house or they are expert-level cleaners because it was impeccable. Originally I wanted something higher on the mountain but this place ended up being way more convenient. It was minutes from the playgrounds, the community store , the amphitheater (there was a concert while we were there)and the new restaurant. The restaurant wasn't there on our last trip; it is A+ (check out the view from our table - picture attached). You could also get from our house to downtown Banner Elk in under 10. All-in-all, it was an awesome trip. Perfect weather, great host, beautiful house. We'll be back!

We had the most wonderful stay at Bear Down Lodge at Eagles Nest! The cabin was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had every comfort we could need — from cozy blankets by the fireplace to a fully stocked kitchen with all the essentials. The location was peaceful and private, yet close enough to all the things you'd want to do in Eagles Nest and beyond. 5 minutes to great camp, the front entrance, and only 10 mins to local restaurants, ski resorts, and small-town charm. We can't wait to come back — it truly felt like a home away from home in the mountains. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!
