Base Camp Lodge is a 6 minute drive to downtown Banner Elk offering convenience and also a relaxed mountain-home feel, and plenty of space for the whole crew to spread out. This inviting three-bedroom plus additional sleeping space and four-bath retreat sleeps up to 10 guests and offers a comfortable blend of rustic charm and modern convenience, making it a fantastic base for family getaways, ski trips, and mountain adventures.
Inside, the open living spaces are designed for easy gathering and laid-back evenings. Guests can cozy up by the two electric fireplaces, enjoy games in the game room, or enjoy a campfire and s'mores at one of the two outdoor fire pits. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for home-cooked meals. A dedicated dining area and breakfast-friendly setup make mealtimes simple and enjoyable.
The lodge’s sleeping layout is well suited for families including a king primary suite, two queen bedrooms, and additional bunk-style sleeping space for extra flexibility.
For fun at home, the game room and game tables offer easy entertainment, while the poker/card table and shuffleboard table add a playful touch for friendly competition. Step outside to take in the mountain air on the deck or patio, fire up the grill, unwind in the hot tub, or gather around the fire pit in the fenced yard. Outdoor seating and a private yard create a peaceful setting for morning coffee, après-ski relaxation, or stargazing after dark.

Important Notes:
-This home allows up to 2 mature, well-trained dogs. Pet rent is $25 per pet per night + tax.
-Firewood may be added at the time of booking or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You receive two wrapped bundles of wood and a fire starter for $25/night.
- All BRMR homes offer kitchens stocked with all utensils, dishware and cookware needed to cook and enjoy meals. There is also a "starter set" of other essentials including a roll of paper towels, a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. Towels and linens will be provided for you. Please plan to bring any food or pantry items you wish to use.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
