Appalachian Retreat is a beautifully decorated home centrally located on Appalachian Ski Mountain between Boone and Blowing Rock!

The main level features a wonderful open floor plan with a living room with a stacked stone gas log fireplace, exposed beam ceiling and 46" Samsung SMART HDTV, a dining area, and a fully-equipped kitchen with granite counters. You'll also find a spacious master suite with King bed and a 26" HDTV, and private bathroom with a beautifully tiled shower. Step outside onto the very comfortably furnished covered deck and take in the peaceful forest sights and sounds, or show off your cooking skills on the gas grill.

The lower level contains a second living area with 37" HDTV, DVD Player and VCR and a gas-log fireplace. There is also a second deck as well as a bedroom with Queen bed and 24" HDTV, a bedroom with another Queen bed and a 20" HDTV, and a full bathroom with jetted tub.

Conveniently located less than 10 minutes to downtown Blowing Rock, 2 minutes to Appalachian Ski Resort, 10 minutes to Tweetsie, and 10 minutes to Boone, you're sure to enjoy your vacation at this beautiful mountain home!
 

Additional notes: 

- Parking for max 2 vehicles.
- PET RENT: $25 PER NIGHT PER PET PLUS TAX. Mature, well-trained pets only, please. Dogs and cats welcome! Max of 4 animals allowed
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

We had a great stay at the Appalachian Retreat! The location, for us, was perfect as we love Blowing Rock, and enjoy having a "big" city (Boone) with everything one would need close by. Our only regret was that the stay was not long enough! We were also blessed with perfect weather the entire time. Please arrange the same for our trip next year.

My family stayed at this cabin for a long ski weekend at AppSki. The location is perfect--wooded and quiet, with easy parking and a short walk to the ski resort. The space was very clean and comfortable, well-stocked, and perfect for a couple, family or even 2 small families. The cozy tv room on the bottom level is an ideal kid hangout or would work well if 2 couples or families wanted a bit of separation in a small cabin. The property management company was great with communication - directions, instructions, and general information - and responded promptly to questions. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommended it!

Wonderful Stay
The property was exactly as it was pictured. They even had a Christmas tree up! My son loved it. The fire place is incredibly intense and warms the house. If you’re looking for a true mountain retreat , this is it. Just be careful driving to the house. It fogs easily and these roads are true Mountain thin windy roads. My only suggestion would be that the house could use a good deep clean. Nothing that impeded our stay but was noticeable.

We came to ski and the location was perfect—as close as you could possibly get to App Ski Mountain. The house is perfect for gathering (to eat, around the TV) but also big enough to spread out and have your own space. We loved the hot tub under the stars after a day of skiing. Note the "host" is a large property management company so the experience may be different if you're used to dealing with individual homeowners on Airbnb. That said, we needed help with icy stairs during our stay and maintenance came right away, so that was great.

Awesome location, great place with everything we needed! Couldn't have asked for a closer location to Appalachian Ski Mountain, and the hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing and snowboarding! Family time
Very nice and clean. So glad it was dog friendly but they had to potty on the gravel -no grass. Two spots for parking a truck and SUV Trailblazer but a little tight. About 10 outside steps that go down to the front door. Hot tub towels were provided which was nice because we didn’t think to bring any. There was a baby gate at the top of the stairs so the dogs couldn’t escape to downstairs without us. The master bath is a walk in shower and the downstairs bath you have to step up and over. Will definitely recommend to others and will stay again.

Great Weekend With Friends
We loved our time at the cabin for a girls weekend. Location is close to the outlets and downtown. Plus if you sit outside, you can hear the Tweetsie train whistle. Absolutely enjoyed the hot tub!! Only issue we noticed was the difference in temps from the upstairs and downstairs. The upper level was warmer and the lower level was at least 10 degrees or more cooler. Other than that, everything was perfect!! Would definitely stay here again!!

Great Family Getaway

Great getaway from the heat!
We spent 3 nights in this great cabin. Everything in the cabin was perfect! And the view from the deck into the forest was great. And the temperature was 20 degrees less than at home...so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Appalachian Retreat caught our eye because of the beautiful pictures on the Blue Ridge Rentals site. However, when we got to the property, it was even more beautiful than the pictures! It was very well maintained and had so many comforts. The woodwork, decorations and furniture are stunning. The amenities and all that is included in the house added to our trip. We felt that the owners had really taken care in making it nice for us and all renters. It was warm and inviting; spacious, yet cozy and comfortable. It’s placed perfectly on the mountain allowing for privacy and ease for venturing out to see the beautiful area. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

We rented this for just shy of a week in March. It was perfect for our family of four. Plenty of room. The kids could have each had their own room, although they preferred to share. Plenty of TV's for everyone, two fireplaces and extras like a Gamecube and a foosball table. There were also books and games. It had absolutely everything we needed to feel like it was a home away from home. We visited in March and got a great deal, so it was an amazing value. I am not sure how much it is during other times of the year when demand might be higher. It was a great home base to enjoy all the surrounding attractions, including Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain and sightseeing on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We absolutely would stay here again.

We had an amazing time. This was our first time vacationing in North Carolina and the cabin was perfect for our family. You guys really thought of everything - including a baby gate, which was unexpected but came in handy. A wonderful and restful trip, we cant wait to visit again soon! We had everything we needed and had WAY more space than anticipated from the photos. We were able to take a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up all the necessary items for grilling, watching football, movie and game nights. We literally only left the cabin to check out!! It was the best weekend getaway EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed from Sept.4 thru Sept 7 at Appalachian Retreat and we loved it. Beautiful great views, had a hot tub. We will stay again if we come back to Boone. Would recommend to everyone!!!

Thank you for allowing our family to call Appalachian Retreat home for the weekends in January and February. We have enjoyed the 2014 Ski Season in Blowing Rock! Our 3 boys (4, 6, & 8 years) thoroughly enjoyed the foosball table, hot tub, and surrounding hills to explore. Your home is cozy, rustic and elegant, and served as our home base while skiing at App! We will highly recommend Appalachian Retreat to friends. Leaving with fond memories!

Our family had a wonderful stay- the home was comfortable and had everything we needed....very "home like" feel. It was a plus being in walking distance to skiing & snowboarding. We started our New Year here. Quiet, relaxing, and even had fireworks down at the ski resort which we watched from right here. Our sons enjoyed hiking in the area as well. Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful time here on the mountain. We were so impressed with this house and how it made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We are so grateful and blessed. God is so good! Enjoyed skiing and tubing and shopping. We will be coming back to stay again- thank you for giving such a great little cabin to live in for a while and for helping us make great memories.
