About Time

We had a wonderful stay at About Time! The cabin was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful, beautifully updated, and surrounded by incredible mountain views. We especially loved the renovated kitchen, which was spotless and had everything we needed. One of our favorite parts of the trip was relaxing in the hot tub each evening while stargazing. It was the perfect way to unwind after spending the day exploring. The host's recommendations were fantastic and helped us make the most of our visit. We enjoyed exploring Boone, Valle Crucis, and Banner Elk, and each town had its own charm. If you're looking for a cozy mountain getaway with amazing views, thoughtful hosts, and a great location close to so many beautiful places, we highly recommend About Time. We'd absolutely stay here again!

This is the perfect house! Views are incredible, hot tub was clean and nice and less than 15 minutes to downtown. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable. The kids loved the game room downstairs. Will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved this cabin home! The layout was perfect for our family of 4, and we enjoyed everything the home had to offer, from the hot tub and fire table for smores to the game room space and proximity to shopping and restaurants in Boone. The cabin was perfectly prepared for our arrival, and the host was very quick to help us resolve the one issue we had upon arrival (one that was totally covered in the check-in instructions...just read them). The house was very clean (except for a cut open avocado on the window sill). The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the views. The hot tub was brand new and very nice. The door was unlocked downstairs upon our arrival which was a little worrisome but we had no issues. They had plenty of “basics” for our long weekend (toilet paper, towels, cleaning supplies, etc). Would stay again.

Great mountain home. Secluded yet not far from Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain and more. The home was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. We immediately felt relaxed and at home. This home also offers several nice amenities from a fantastic porch, very nice hot tub, and wonderful gas fire pit. There is also plenty of room inside with bedrooms upstairs, the primary downstairs, and large game room basement. We have been coming to the blue ridge mts for 10 years and must say that It's About Time is the best. Beautiful setting, close to downtown Boone, very clean, enjoyable mountain scenery, fun game room and great communication. Really enjoyed the porch rocking chairs for morning coffee. The drive up the mountain was a a little scary at first, but quickly adapted. Hope to be back next summer.

The cabin met our criteria and the pictures looked good. It turned out to exceed our expectations. The cleanliness and the spacious rooms were a delight. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances one might need. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub with the extra towels and the fire pit being gas made it easy to use. We were super happy with this property! We booked it to relax the last few days of our trip up north on our way back. We intended to do some hiking at Grandfather Mountain but it rained heavily. Having a cozy cabin with some extra entertainment in the basement worked out great. Kids were happy to play and to have the room with the twin beds. We were comfy in the master and my father-in-law in the other. Everyone had their own space. We all enjoyed the hot tub in the moments that it wasn't raining. Kids asked that we book again when we come back out for a hopefully none rainy weekend! Thank you!

Stayed here for 2 nights during a visit to App State. The home was rustic and lovely. Definitely should warn everyone of the steep incline to the house. It was scary for a city girl like me! We absolutely loved all the fun games and the hot tub and the view was amazing!

Decided to get the kids some experiences this year and one of them was snow tubing. The house was perfect. We wanted something that had a little something for everyone. Kids and adults loved playing games in the game room. Kitchen was functional and just a quick trip to the grocery store. Hot tub was great for relaxing in the evenings. By the end of the weekend, my oldest asked if we could make sure we rented the house again next year.

This cabin did not disappoint in any way! It was spacious, provided everything needed, homey, lovely, and easy to make fun memories in. We enjoyed the game room, playing family games provided by the cabin, reading in the nook, relaxing in the hot tub, cooking together in the kitchen, and watching movies (loved the surround sound) with the fireplace providing warmth. Getting to cabin was a little difficult the first time but that was because we came in on the wrong side…like really wrong side Ha….but after that it was fine. Had a great view of the mountains which I bet it gorgeous during fall and winter. Hot tub and game room provided entertainment for all. Would definitely stay here again!

My children and I had a wonderful stay at About Time. The cabin and property was very clean. A Great place to relax with a beautiful view on a huge porch. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. The kids and myself had a blast in the basement game room with the arcade games, ping pong, and foosball table. Everything in the cabin was well labeled and information readily available for everything needed. Thank You!

Our family planned a last minute spring break trip and this property was perfect. The kitchen is well stocked, their were plenty of games and activities for the kids while the adults relaxed. It is conveniently located in Boone and the view is nice. I imagine it's even nicer in the summer. We had 5 people and it was just the right amount of space. We would stay again.

We let our teenage daughter pick out a cabin for us to stay at for our family vacation. We think she did a great job! This cabin is fully furnished with everything you could need or want. It is very clean, well maintained and private. We were close to town, activities, and places to explore. This area provides things to do for all ages. We were especially excited about the games to play in the basement!! We are a super competitive family) The master bed and the remote controlled ceiling fan was amazing!!!! We really need these in our life back home!! The morning wild life got each day started off with a smile. The cute squirrel that ran along the porch and the sweet yard bunny were the best. The shared, gravel driveway entrance can be tricky to maneuver so just giving a quick heads up. This isn't a negative comment I promise, just a FYI for future guests. Thank you again for a wonderful place to stay.

Family had a great weekend. Cabin was as pictured. Clean and well stocked. Had plenty of towels. Thunderstorm the first night was enjoyed on the covered porch. Kids had fun with all the games. 15 minutes to Boone; 30 minutes to Grandfather Mtn. Had trouble with the entry code, but was quickly resolved. Only thing I’d add is a Keurig for us inept coffee makers. I’d def return. Thanks!!

This was our second year vacating at 'About Time' cabin and both times we couldn't have been more pleased. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, very well-maintained, private, beautiful huge porch with multiple rocking chairs and a hot tub looking out over the view, lots of hiking and places to see in the area. There was just everything we could've wanted all in one place. The game rooms and the lower floor are an added bonus for families with a second floor complete with two beautiful bedrooms and bathroom and a little reading nook that was very comfortable. We look forward to coming back frequently as we just love this place so much.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at About Time cabin. The location is great, just a short drive to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, and many other destinations. The cabin had everything we needed and most importantly it was very clean and well maintained. We truly enjoyed sitting on the porch with the beautiful view and the peace and quite. Great cabin with many amenities except for a toaster and very clean. The wrap around porch with rockers was a nice feature. For our July trip the upstairs bedrooms were too warm even though the cabin was air conditioned. The single air conditioning unit was not sufficient. We used window draw fans but they could not do the job because it would not cool off enough until early morning. With the wild fires out west we were not able to open the windows for the first two nights as the smell of burning firewood was not pleasant. The unit also had a smart thermostat which could not be controlled by us.

We had a wonderful time in this house. It has everything one can wish for. They even provided soap and shampoo - something I hadn't seen in other vacation rentals before. The kids especially liked the games and puzzles in the kid's bedroom and table tennis and foosball table in the basement. We spent a lot of time on the deck (and in the hot tub) enjoying the view. The drive up to the house is "interesting" but we got used to it. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive during the winter.

About Time is a beautiful cabin. The interior is all wood, nice decorations. The kitchen is equipped with all that you need for 3 squares/day. The bathrooms - all 3.5 are large. The water pressure was good as well. The house could use additional task lights/lighting. The stairs were also an issue for our folks with bad knees, hips and backs. Something to note if elderly people are included in the stay. View was nice off the porch BUT, with the trees grown out the view was just leaves... fall would be amazing here. Cabin had multiple game options downstairs which we did enjoy/use for a night. Hulu, Netflix, and HBOMax are available which was a nice surprise. Living room furniture was not the most comfortable but fit the cabin decor. Boone and Blowing Rock close and had a lot of shopping. There was A LOT of traffic on 105 and it was difficult to pull out in to traffic. If you decide to make plans that require reservations, leave extra time for traffic. Even in the summer Boone was very congested.

My family of four stayed at About Time for about a week, and loved every minute of it. The cabin is tucked away on the side of the mountain and has amazing views at all times of day -- rain or shine. There was ample room for all of us, plenty of pots and pans for cooking, salt and pepper and olive oil, etc. and the best amenities. Our kids enjoyed learning ping pong and foosball while we were there. The hot tub was perfect and secluded. In fact, we couldn't see any other cabins around us while we were there; we felt like we were away from everyone... it was lovely. The location is great too for hiking and other adventures around Boone and Blowing Rock. We've taken a lot of vacations and stayed in many cabins, but something about this one made it our best family vacation. We came back home fully relaxed and already missing the mountains. We can't wait to come back to About Time.

We stayed at About Time in the spring, and it was perfect weather for our visit. Our family enjoyed the cabin - it was perfect for us! The game room was a big hit, and the hot tub was in a peaceful, enjoyable outdoor space. My girls loved that there were no murky corners or tons of creepy crawlies in the outdoor spaces - it's clear the property management group takes great care of this home. We struggled a little with getting the temperature correct in the house, but there are box fans in each room that help. We brought towels for the hot tub, and use the property's linens for showers. This was the perfect solution for us, and I highly recommend for others if you hate a wet towel! Highly recommend you check out this property.

The place was very clean, cozy and there was space for everybody to get away when needed to read or have quiet time. We will definitely be back. We got a ton of snow and would love to try this place in the spring.

A beautiful, well maintained cabin. Very spacious, comfortable and the keyless check in/out was a bonus. We loved how peaceful and private the area was. Close to a grocery store, Valle Crucis Mast General Store and many other places to view the mountain beauty. We have already booked again! Highly recommend. The staff were so helpful and always available. Definitely has a steep narrow road up to the cabin which will require 4 wheel drive in inclement weather as noted by the staff.

Found the location perfect for day trips and the house perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. Bedroom layout was perfect and hot tub a big plus. Will definitely recommend to friends.

House was very comfortable, clean and well stocked. Great central location.. we biked the creeper trail, visited Boone and rafted in Marshall. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time at this cabin. The game room was absolutely amazing, the kids and adults loved it. Very cozy and comfortable. If I had anything I'd add some blinds in the living room to be closed at night time. We would love to come back.

Loved out stay at About Time. The location is perfectly situated up the mountain so you get great views and privacy, but aren't miles up a twisty road. Super close to Boone for groceries, restaurants, etc. The cabin was super clean and spacious. Appreciated all the bathrooms, large rooms, and multiple game rooms. Lots of TV options, books, magazines, games, puzzles. The hot tub was a winner! Would absolutely consider staying here again.

Great location, nice views, beautiful home, beds very comfortable, the game tables were fun. After a long day of snowboarding the hot tub and the fireplace at the cabin was perfect. Highly recommend this place for anyone!

Beautiful and comfortable cabin in a central location! We'd love to come back and stay again. Access road was not too difficult to drive up and down in winter which we appreciated. Gorgeous porch with very pretty views and the kids really enjoyed the game room downstairs. Thanks!

About Time was a great cabin. Location was ideal, and the cabin itself was the nicest one we have ever stayed in. The view from the porch was beautiful. The only negative for me was the lack of enough towel hooks in the master bathroom. I bought an over the door towel rack and that took care of the problem. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

The About Time was cozy and comfortable while being spacious and private. The entire family enjoyed the home. The rental company provided wonderful service and the home was clean, ready and exceeded our expectations. For the entry road - highly recommend 4WD.

This is our second time in the mountains having stayed at another cabin last year. We all agree you couldn’t really ask for more. Plenty to do in the cabin and plenty to not do if you are so inclined. The basement was our 7 and 9 year olds dream. Between foosball, ping pong, and yes the Wii they loved it all. Beautiful house, view, and amenities. We had a great time. Thank you!!!

Pros: This house was sweet for our family of 6. The location was very convenient. It was only 15 minutes to the downtown area of Boone! The place was clean and smelled fresh. The hot tub was clean and relaxing! There were games and lots of books and a fun game basement. There was plenty to do in the area which was a plus for us! Cons: The house is a little dated, some of the furnishings were updated but over all dated. The upstairs was pretty warm and we had to use box fans that were in the closets to stay cool upstairs. They only provided 1 towel per person and no extra ones. They had little signs printed for directions and they were all faded and old. The electronics were pretty old but also had Roku so that was nice. The kitchen needed some smaller teaspoons. My children couldn't even fit the spoon in their mouths. Over all had a great vacation and would definitely rent again in this area but probably not this same house again.

My family and I really enjoyed the cabin. The cabin was set up nicely and clean and tidy. We always do a summer vacation to the mountains and it's hard to find a cabin with a view when the leaves are at their fullest but hits cabin didn't disappoint. It did have a nice view from the porch. It was nice to just sit and relax and take in the views of nature. But I think, overall, it was the foosball table that everyone enjoyed. The ping pong table was also cool (I've never played 'til now).

This mountain house is perfect: great location, super clean, beautiful decor, comfortable, and lots of space to relax! The views from the huge wrap-around deck were gorgeous. Loved the game room w/ ping pong and foosball. Would highly recommend.

This cabin was perfect for my family of 5. All of us are different, some are athletic and prefer to stay active, most are musical and jolly, some are ok with sitting by the fireplace, reading a book or watching TV. This cabin is perfectly planned out for every time of individual. The game area being completely separate from the common area worked out perfect for my family. I rarely give perfect scores - this cabin earned it!

Very pleased with the cabin and its amenities. The teenage boys enjoyed the basement game room. The view was amazing. The gas logs were easy to work and the hot tub was clean and didn't have any problems. Very pleasant. There was a maintenance guy who showed up shortly after we got there checked the hot tub chemicals and even offered to help carry our bags in.
