Come and relax with The Guardian Bear! This luxury three bedroom, three bath home is nestled in the trees within walking distance to the Camp Eagles Nest amenity area of Eagles Nest.

The main level features an open great room with well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets, gorgeous granite counters with stone backsplash, and is open to the dining and living area. The dining table seats up to 10 comfortably and there’s room for 4 on stools at the eat-in kitchen counter. In the living room, the sofa is situated near the gas fireplace with a large-screen smart TV mounted above, and there's a small desk area as well. There’s a huge wall of windows overlooking the forest, and there is deck access to the views and outdoors.

One of the king suites is on the main level, a log frame bed and lots of windows to let the nature and beauty come inside. The full bath features a tiled shower and granite vanity.

Upstairs is a second King suite, with a full private bath with quartz vanity and tiled shower. There’s also a loft area with a suspended wicker chair and a card table, perfect for those who need to crack open the laptop to answer a few work emails. There's lots of board games here so make some family memories with a fun game!

On the lower level is another family room with pool table, sofa, chair, a fun selection of books, toys and activities for kids, and another large TV. Enjoy the xBox Series S (no-disc version), with Ultimate Game Pass. Also on this level is the laundry area, a bedroom with three sets of built-in bunk beds: one twin-over-Queen, and two sets of twin-over-twin. This room has a bathroom with double granite vanities and a tub/shower.

From the downstairs den, step outside to the lower patio and enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub or lounge in the rockers! The main level deck offers a window view through the trees, along with a teak patio seating area, table & chairs set, and gas grill. Also on the grounds are a great fire pit and picnic table with Edison lighting above. The main level parking area also offers a Level 2 EV charger.

HOURS: Thur & Fri 4p-10p; Sat 2p-10p; Sun 2p-8p. (Please verify hours directly with the winery, as times may vary seasonally.)
Please note that all visitors on premises at the Winery must be 16 years or older, with the exception of Sundays.  This is strictly enforced. 

Guests do not have access to the locked-off portion of the Sportsman’s Lodge, the Fitness Center, or the Wine & Cigar Bar. That is for member use only.

 Additional Notes:

- This property is pet friendly for up to 3 mature, well-trained dogs. Pet fee is $25/nt per pet.
- The North Pavilion is host to several summer parties including a Fourth of July celebration and concerts which guests are more than welcome to attend however, in the event there is a wedding or other private party, guests are not allowed in or near the Sportsmans Lodge.
- The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months. 
- All stays at Eagles Nest homes have an additional amenity fee in order to maintain the luxurious facilities and features in the development.
- Eagles Nest is an up and coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.
- Please be advised that private ATVs are not permitted in the community and will be denied entry at the gates.
- Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)
- The summer concerts are open to all guests however there is an admission fee for each person and cash bar for food and drinks.
- All linens and towels provided for your stay.
- All Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.
- The home offers a generator in case of loss of power.
- Firewood for the outdoor fireplace and firepit may be added at the time of booking, or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- Returning guests of The Guardian Bear Lodge may receive a 10% discount, not to be stacked with other discounts on the rent.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Was tricky to find, especially in the dark, as Eagle's Nest is a private gated community, basically on top of a mountain.
However, was beautiful and many improvements in process for this community members. Houses were gorgeous, including this one. Unbelievable views and extremely well-appointed. We weren't there long enough to enjoy everything and never got to use the fire pit or the hot-tub, as we had to leave early to be able to get off the mountain in the snow. The Epic Chophouse that is a private restaurant for Eagle's Nest owners & guests, was awesome and we ate there both nights and had wonderful service, food and drink.
Will plan to come back in the spring/summer.

Beautiful community with amazing views and scenery. The home was well-stocked with many kitchen appliances and other needed creature comforts. Perfect for two couples who both want King Beds plus a great downstairs for kids with their own separate gathering room with lots of books and games including a pool table. The "Dollar General" store within the community is very handy because you can get almost anything you need 24 hours a day without having to trek very far to town. There is a vibrant pickleball community there that was open and accepting of players at all levels. I would definitely consider coming back to this home or another larger house if I had more people with me. During the winter, 4 wheel drive would be absolutely necessary due to the steep and winding roads (which of course give you the best views and privacy).

The guardian bear lodge was the perfect place to stay for our family vacation. We stayed there for 5 nights with my three and five year old sons. They loved the bunk room and the selection of toys books, puzzles and board games was a huge bonus! The house was very clean and came equipped with everything we needed. We loved the fire pit, grill and hot tub! The neighborhood had a lot of amenities that we enjoyed including a concert in the neighborhood amphitheater, dinner and views at epic chophouse, two playgrounds, and hiking trails. We had a great time and would come back to the guardian bear again!

Our stay at Guardian Bear Lodge was absolutely fantastic! The house was perfectly equipped for our two families, including four kids. The bunk beds were a huge hit with the little ones, and the thoughtful addition of toys and books kept them entertained throughout our stay. The house itself was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the beds were so comfortable—it really felt like a home away from home. The outdoor space was a highlight for us—the yard was spacious and beautifully maintained, complete with a cozy fire pit that made evenings extra special. The hot tub was a relaxing treat on colder nights, and we couldn’t get enough of the incredible views from the property. Overall, Guardian Bear Lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable, fun, and memorable family vacation. We highly recommend it for families looking for a relaxing and scenic retreat!

This place was AMAZING! The property and location was perfect. They thought of every amenity you could possibly need - Games, hot tub, toiletries, books, extra blankets, chargers, cooking supplies, etc.
Hosts were responsive and check in and check out instructions were a breeze and informative.
…And the Eagles Nest community!!! There was so much to do for our family. We enjoyed the outdoor play areas with the kids and will definitely be back to check out the winery!

We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, and Guardian Bear was one of the best ones we’ve stayed in. Beautifully furnished, modern, clean, and lots of nice touches like the remote control window shades and automated outdoor lighting. Another unexpected perk was the long-range mountains view that was better than in the property pics. We had zero issues during our stay. This was our first stay in Eagles Nest and it was also wonderful; what a lovely neighborhood. Really enjoyed our time there!

We absolutely loved the cabin. They thought of every detail possible to make our stay great. The house was so clean. You would never know that it is pet friendly by the appearance, but yet they covered everything to even make your pet feel welcome. Beautiful home!!!

Kid and pet friendly, well stocked, every detail thought of, modern and clean while retaining the mountain cabin vibes we love! The bunk room was awesome for kids/ teens to have their own space. Best Yet
The house is beautiful, so well-equipped and perfect for families. The outdoor seating and fire pit were our favorite spot and there is even a small grill at the fire pit. Having two areas to relax on two floors made a nice separation for the adults and kids when needed. Eagles Nest had fun offerings that meant we didn’t have to leave the mountain every day. We have rented in the area for a decade and this was the best home by far.

We recently stayed in The Guardian Bear Lodge at Eagles Nest and I cannot speak highly enough of this property or of our experience! We had two families so the layout of GBL was perfect for us - two adult couples and a small group of kids who were able to have their own space in the bottom floor, which with the bunk room, game room, and tv area was big enough to keep them happy and not on top of each other.  The home was fully stocked with brand new items of anything you could possibly want or need - from the large variety of games in the library upstairs and also downstairs, to every utensil that could be necessary for cooking, to the beautifully curated books and art throughout the house. When we checked in the entire place was immaculate. The great room was large enough that we all had space to stretch out yet also felt warm and cozy - so comfortable after a long day of skiing and snowboarding. The entire home was modern - incorporating architectural natural aspects from the surrounding area - so our entire stay we felt like we were in a luxury lodge unique to the Blue Ridge. We were all very impressed with the entire property. One thing I will mention that other reviews have not - I especially liked was the circle driveway - which although it was not snowy the weekend we were there - if it had been snowy, having a flat easily accessible driveway during wintertime driving makes life so much easier.  I could write a novel about this home, starting with the monmon cat book (I thought i was the only one who knew of this artist haha!) but then it might book up for the rest of the year. It’s going to be tough to keep this one a secret. We will definitely be back!! Thank you again to the homeowners and to Blue Ridge for a wonderful stay - memories to last a lifetime.

A wonderful Fall family trip to Banner Elk
My family and I recently stayed at The Guardian Bear Lodge in the Eagles Nest development near Banner Elk, NC, and what I can say is the property greatly exceeded our expectations. Not only was the house fantastic, but the Eagles Nest development, where the house was located, was awesome - just a beautiful location with stunning Fall mountain views, with a ton of activities available to the family. We will definitely be going back, and I cannot recommend this house or the Eagles Nest development more highly. A 5 Star experience in every facet, to include the property management and rental service.

The Guardian Bear Lodge is a gorgeous cabin with every amenity and creature comfort you could ask for. It's a convenient location near Camp Eagle's Nest, and we really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was. The EV charger is a big plus, and the decor and creative touches are very nice. You won't be disappointed here!

Beautiful home and floor plan with amazing views
We loved the home and it was very clean inside and very well maintained. We love this area and would definitely come back again. Only complaint is we called customer service to tell them about the dirty hot tub and long grass as no where for dogs to go bathroom and they said they would take care of issue but no one ever came out and helped with the issue so once you get to home be prepared if you need anything no one comes out to help so property is the way they have it ready but it is beautiful and overall very clean and people are very friendly

Absolutely fabulous cabin with amazing views. The cabin had so many fun things to do. It was so well put together--with guests in mind. We loved everything from the games, to the hot tub, to the beautifully done fire pit. We'll definitely be back!!

Great Place for our Celebration
We gathered to celebrate an anniversary & 2 birthdays. The 5 of us had plenty of room & loved all the provided amenities. Will definitely return to this lovely cottage.

Spectacular Guardian Bear Lodge!
My husband and I decided to do a short getaway to celebrate both my birthday and our adult daughter’s birthday. All there is to say it’s that we had an amazing time! The property it’s very well appointed, excellently designed and included many amenities! The views were beautiful! Also staying at Eagles Nest Lodge was totally enjoyable. We played mini golf and pickle ball with our grandkids! This was an unforgettable birthday !
