Welcome to The Dire Wolf at Eagles Nest! 

Your getaway to the High Country awaits at this 4 bedroom luxury home in the desired gated community of Eagles Nest in Banner Elk NC.  

All of your cares will melt away as you soak in the hot tub looking out at the pristine mountain views.  Plenty of outdoor deck space to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or sit by the outdoor fireplace sharing warm cocoa with friends.  

BEDROOM LAYOUT

BEDROOM 1 - Main level
Primary King suite with Smart TV, work station with comfortable rolling chair and ample desk space if you have a few emails to wrap up before fully engulfing yourself in vacation mode.   Attached to a beautiful full bath that has both a soaking tub and custom tiled shower. 

BEDROOM 2 - Lower level
Two Queen beds with Smart TV, work station with rolling chair and desk.  A full bath is just down the hall. 

BEDROOM 3 - Lower level
King suite with Smart TV.  Attached to a modern full bath that has a custom tiled shower. 

BEDROOM 4 - Lower Level
Twin over Twin bunkbed in a cozy space close by.  

The lower level is designed to accommodate your group to the fullest.  From the stellar views and wet bar kitchen with plenty of storage and counter space to the spacious sitting in the gathering room to snack on popcorn while enjoying your favorite family movie together.  Have hours of indoor fun with the new Skee-Ball Machine.

Eagles Nest Winery day passes are available onsite for $25.00 each
HOURS: Thur & Fri 4p-10p; Sat 2p-10p; Sun 2p-8p. (Please verify hours directly with the winery, as times may vary seasonally.)
Please note all visitors on premise at the Winery must be 16 years or older, with the exception of Sundays.  This is strictly enforced. 

Guest do not have access to the locked off portion of the Sportsman’s Lodge, the Fitness Center, or the Wine & Cigar Bar. That is for member use only.


Additional Notes:
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 59 days of the arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Firewood for the outdoor fire pit may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night. 
- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets into this home. 
- All TVs are SmartTvs and streaming only.
- Please be advised that private ATVs are not permitted in the community and will be denied entry at the gates.
- Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)
- The summer concerts are open to all guests, however there may be an admission fee and cash bar for food and drinks. 
- 4WD required for winter months and chains may be necessary during times of snow or ice. 
- All linens and towels provided.
- All Eagles Nest homes have an additional amenity fee in order to maintain the luxurious amenities.
- Eagles Nest is an up and coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.
- Please note that all Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.
- Guests returning to The Dire Wolf may receive a discount of 5%, not to be combined with other discounts to the rent.

We had a wonderful stay with our family over the holidays. The home is as you see in pictures. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. We are cooks and enjoyed hanging out and preparing meals after a long day on the slopes. The kitchen was well stocked for this. We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this property.

We recently stayed at this beautiful home and truly enjoyed our time here. The house is incredibly spacious, tastefully decorated, and offers breathtaking views of the mountains and sunsets — a perfect retreat for anyone looking to relax and recharge in nature’s beauty. The layout is well thought-out, and the large windows throughout the house allow for an abundance of natural light and scenic views. The bedrooms are comfortable, especially the king rooms, and the overall ambiance of the house is peaceful and welcoming. However, there were a few cleanliness issues that detracted slightly from the experience. The oven, drawers, cabinets, and some areas of the floor could have used more attention. A thorough cleaning and inspection after each guest’s departure would go a long way in maintaining the home’s high standards. A few thoughtful updates would make this place truly exceptional. Adding some seating near the hot tub would enhance the outdoor experience, and relocating the hot tub to a corner would help preserve the amazing view from the second king bedroom. Additionally, in the room with two beds, swapping out the large dresser for a nightstand would provide a more practical solution — giving guests a place to rest their phone and a light for reading. With these improvements, this home would absolutely be a five-star rental. We would love to return in the future once these small but meaningful changes are addressed! (Mgt. note - the cleaning feedback and suggestions have been shared with our team to address and look into).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dire Wolf at Eagles Nest! The home had everything we needed - and more! Beautiful and comfortable furnishings, a well stocked kitchen, and plenty of room for us to spread out or come together for family time. The skee ball game was a huge hit! This property offers amazing views on one side and peaceful woods on the other. We enjoyed quiet mornings on the side porch watching deer, wild turkeys, and raccoons, and evenings on the deck watching the phenomenal sunset. We would love to come back stay in this home again!

Absolutely stunning retreat from a busy life. Kids loved the hot tub and game room and spent hours outdoors. Adults enjoyed the beautiful views and luxurious accommodations. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. We are sad to go home! 5 stars!!

This home was nothing short of spectacular! The view from the massive porch, the fireplaces, soaking in the hot tub after a fun day of sledding down the massive hill behind the sportsman lodge, and family skeeball tournaments. We can't wait to come back again to explore more. Your home had everything to make our stay enjoyable from the comfortable beds, a chef's kitchen with all the gadgets to cook with (even serving platters) for our big family dinner. Thank you, Dire Wolf, for an amazing weekend!
