This was our third stay at Scrollrock, over the last twenty five years , and this visit was the best ever!
We have some very precious memories of our first, tenth, and our twenty sixth wedding anniversaries; all celebrated at Scrollrock!
Even before we checked out this last time, we were were already planning our next trip.

Of course there is plenty to do in the area. We went gem mining for the first time and loved it. Also tried a couple of new restaurants.
Just sitting on the porch listening to the water move over the rocks in the creek brings the upmost peace and relaxation when we are at Scrollrock.

I can’t say enough about this cabin! It was exactly as depicted on the site AND MORE. My daughters (8 & 9) had the time of their lives. We hiked and explored the property with our dog and were in the stream every day. It was freezing but the hot tub in the back deck and gas stove inside kept us all toasty. We were scheduled to stay 5 nights and ended up extending an extra 2 days. It was secluded but close enough to lots of attractions and cute shops/diners. The upstairs is absolutely adorable and was the perfect space for the three of us (traveling with girls and their suitcases….haha) to spread out and have our own space. We loved the rustic and authenticity of the original wood displayed throughout the cabin and decor. It was a breath of fresh air and serenity for this “post Christmas” single mom!

Amazing home and property. My wife and I absolutely loved the privacy of the lot and especially the adjacent creek. This was one of the cutest places I have seen among short term rentals. The attention to detail inside the cottage and in the beautiful gardens was amazing. Also, so close to downtown Black Mountain and Asheville is just 15 minutes away. You gotta check it out!

Beautiful, quaint, and cozy cabin. Private location but still close to town. Waking up to the babbling creek in the morning and listening to the sounds of nature in the hot tub were our favorites. This house was a perfect stay for hiking and exploring the mountains in the summer. The creek was beautiful but the hot tub was not working. Great location and hidden from it all. There was an odor downstairs but the window and door was opened to air it out. The back porch was wonderful; would definitely stay again!

My husband and I had a great time! The cabin was perfect. Had everything we needed and is in such a pretty location. It was very fun to be in the hot tub with it being so cold outside! And we also ran from the hot tub to the creek for a brief dip in that cold water. We slept well in the comfortable bed and only wish we had another day to stay. We would love to come back in different seasons too.

Stayed at Scrollrock for a full week. Couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We were blessed with two days of good snow to see it both white and green. Beautiful in both. The dogs loved running around the yard and playing in the creek. Gas fire place and hot tub were cozy. Only about 15 mins to town and groceries. About 20-25mins to local hiking trails and breweries. It was a good location and distance for us with scenic drives. The cabin felt very private with all the trees surrounding it. A large group of deer would pass through the back yard every night, which was awesome. We were stuck in the cabin for 2.5 days while our truck was getting repaired, but thankfully the cabin had all the essentials for us to still have a great time. My husband and I would definitely stay at this cabin again in the future. Great vacation to enjoy the outdoors, skiing, local breweries, and have some much needed R&R.

We had such a phenomenal time at Scrollrock. The property is secluded and offers great privacy. On the grounds you can take advantage of the hot tub, creek, fire pit, and all the amenities of home to include cooking dinner if you'd like. Despite temperatures in the teens overnight the cabin stayed nice and warm. Additionally, the views on the drive to and from the cabin are spectacular. You're also about a 30 minute drive to Boone and just a little farther to Blowing Rock, both of which offer shopping and local eateries. This location has my highest endorsement, especially for couples of all ages looking for a quiet, beautiful get-a-way.

Everything was great, just as usual! Lots of wildlife like deer, chipmunks, and birds. The house was spotless too. The only issue we had was that we requested firewood for the firepit and the associate did not seem to have specific knowledge of the home having a firepit so we didn't get to use the firepit. Otherwise it was a great trip!

Stayed at Scrollrock to ring in 2022 and what an amazing experience we had! A beautiful secluded lot with a brook rolling along the property. It lolls you to sleep at night (super comfortable bed) and provides great entertainment during the day. We sat outside by the fire, enjoyed beautiful stars from the hot tub at night and even took a few refreshing dips in the creek. The cabin is well equipped and inviting. We can't wait to come back. Close to a few ski resorts too, will have to come when it snows.

This is the sweetest little cabin I have ever stayed in! It was very clean and well appointed. We woke up to the sound of the babbling brook that runs behind the property and it was lovely. We brought our dog and there was ample land for her to run around. My husband and I rented it and the rest of our group stayed at Decoy's Nest (big house) just across the street. Highly recommend this for a couple.

This little cabin is precious! It was clean and so well decorated and warm and cozy. The rushing creek beside the property was so beautiful and nice to listen to. We loved the red rockers on the porch! Only thing we had a hard time getting used to was the little oven. We tried to heat up pizza and the baking sheet would not fit in the oven...just a minor thing. We had a great time there! Thank you for your sweet cabin!

Scrollcreek is the perfect cabin getaway! My husband, furbaby, & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy gem nestled by a tranquil creek in the picturesque Banner Elk mountains. The property is peaceful yet not too far from all the ski slopes and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the soaking in the hot tub in the evenings . We definitely plan to return to this authentic cabin retreat !!!!

We came up for our daughter's 8th birthday and to go skiing. It was an absolutely perfect stay! We were blessed with beautiful winter wonderland weather. Hot tub, grilling out, and a cozy evening watching a movie by the fire after a day on the slopes was just what the doctor ordered. It was an easy drive to Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain. Cannot wait to return!

Scrollrock cabin is perfect for a small family or couples retreat. There a creek on the property as well as a spacious yard for your favorite furmissles to roam and play. The winter scenery is second to none that I've experienced and is already calling me back...

Gorgeous property that looked amazing in the snow. Huge rocks, a creek, great hot tub. The inside was decorated in such a creative way. Will hopefully be back to enjoy in the warm weather!

Scrollrock is an amazing location situated very close to Banner Elk and the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. It was far enough away to enjoy some quiet time with family and friends, and close enough to get to the slopes for some skiing. The location is also PERFECT for pets. They had a blast here. I will definitely be visiting this location again in the future. Thank you for having us!

A beautiful space, with a lovely view. A cozy but spacious feel. The downstairs was cozy and the hot tub was really wonderful. The upstairs was gorgeous - loved the bed and the shower! Just perfect for a getaway for two.

This was the perfect cottage for a quiet weekend getaway! The creek so was so peaceful and the hot tub was perfect on those chilly nights! The cottage itself is simply perfect and had the perfect amount of space for my family! You will not regret booking this sweet, private cottage!
