A Bears Hill

A Bears Hill is a must stay. We loved the cabin, the pond, the deer! The house is very well taken care of and in the most pristine location. The deer were in the yard so many times a day if felt like a deer farm! We’ve already booked a full week in October and can’t wait to go back. I did not fully understand that there was a gate to get into the “neighborhood”. The key pad is a little hard to see but in front of the mailboxes. To get out there is no key pad. The gate opens automatically as you drive up to it. Luckily someone was walking by when we needed to get out. The guidance was not clear on the either the entry or exit of the gate but easily done once we figured it out. Adding to my review just for additional info for the next guest. We loved it!

Bears Hill was a delight to stay in for an extra long weekend. We usually stay in Blowing Rock to visit our daughter at App State, but this location was so much closer and we will definitely book this house again. It was perfect for us, but the main thing that was impressive was that it came equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, from complimentary Keurig coffees, to many available spices and cooking accessories. We were entertained by four deer eating apples in the front yard by the apple tree. Blue Ridge did a fantastic job too at communicating and making our stay go smoothly.

We love renting from Blue Ridge Mtn Rentals. They helped us find a place to stay when we ran into water issues in our Boone home. This is a beautiful cabin nestled at the Top of Boone on a quiet wooded property in a gated community. Very nice interior and great hot tub as well. Loved enjoying meals under the gazebo on the front deck/porch. Very short drive down the mountain to downtown Boone. Very responsive and helpful property management as well.

We stayed at A Bear's Hill cabin for a week of summer vacation. The cabin was cozy and clean, the kitchen well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils, and there was a nice selection of books/games to enjoy. The kids loved the PacMan machine. The cabin is only 10 minutes from Downtown Boone with easy access to the highways/trails. We had a great relaxing week and would stay again!

We had a great stay with our friends and our dogs. The cabin is a great size and it was very clean. Very close to downtown Boone. We loved using the fire place in the evenings and loved playing Pacman! In the winter, you most definitely need a 4WD/AWD vehicle or you will not make it up the driveway. Our friends had front wheel drive and could not make it up. There was a shovel on site and we had to dig them out. Other than that, great trip and would return!

Stayed for a week in July 2021. 4300 feet of elevation. Nice break from the heat. Bear Hill is cleanest, most comfortable place we have ever rented. Does not have a "view for miles" but we were not looking for that, needed an area to walk the dog. Only suggestions. Needs a tea pitcher and some ice trays.

Beautiful home. Nice, quiet, peaceful area. Very clean. Very comfortable and cozy. Plenty of room. Sitting outside by the fire watching the lightening bugs was by far the most relaxing time I've had in a long time. Grandfather mountain was such a beautiful ride and exillerating walk across the bridge. We all loved that experience. Dan'l Boone restaurant is really nice. Blowing Rock was fun. The home is close to both so you'll enjoy a nice day trip. Home is beautiful !! I'd love to stay their again.

Perfect place to stay close to town (10 min drive to king street) with an isolated feel! The home was very clean and was even better than the pictures! The long driveway allows parking for multiple cars. I would recommend this place and would stay here again!

Wonderful cabin in a nice community. We had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time "in" enjoying the home and the hot tub. The only negatives were small and did not impact the overall stay or enjoyment. The bath downstairs was slow to drain and the dishwasher rack was broken...but still useable. We would stay here agin for sure.

Cabin was cozy, welcoming and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Tons of towels, kitchen utensils, etc. Only issue we had was the written directions were difficult to follow b/c there were some missing street signs and some streets marked differently than indicated. Using GPS works great and gets you right to the destination! Gas logs fantastic, great internet and TV reception. Excellent outside area to walk our small dog.

My family of 7 rented this cabin for the Thanksgiving holiday. The pictures on the website do not do this cabin justice. This is your quintessential mountain home…from the bear theme touches to the App State nods…we truly felt like someone shared their home with us. The kitchen is well stocked and not just with your basic cooking ware…they seriously had everything we needed. The house is way larger than the pictures make it feel. The loft was perfect for our kids…we had the grandparents with us and let them have the bedrooms on the first floor and the rest of our family (two parents, two teenagers and a 7 year old) were able to comfortably spread out in the loft with MORE than enough room to spare (the video games helped as well!) With the full bath and huge bedroom up there it felt like our own separate little suite. The owners had even decorated the cabin for Christmas – it was absolutely an unexpected but wonderful and thoughtful touch. Our only regret is that because of the weather we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor amenities and space as much as we’d have liked to (still managed to use the hot tub though!). Prior to coming here, we thought we had found our favorite mountain rental but this cabin has definitely taken it’s spot…we can’t wait to return.

My family and I spent a wonderful, much needed vacation at Bear Hill. From the moment we arrived we felt "at home". Everything was cozy and the home was very clean. We enjoyed the feeling of seclusion with the ability to still go into town for meals or to enjoy the local activities. We plan to come back in the fall!

The house was so nice and had everything we needed for a weekend in the mountains. We loved the little pond across the street and it was awesome seeing deer in the yard first thing in the morning. We rented this cabin for Family Weekend at ASU with another family and thoroughly enjoyed it! The front porch was a beautiful retreat in the mornings with a cup of coffee, the adults relaxed in the hot tub, our kids played cards under the gazebo on the front porch in the evening, comfortable bedrooms and close proximity to campus made this the perfect location!

We had a fantastic vacation at the Bear Hill rental. Please tell the owners they have a beautiful home and the amenities are top-notch. The details and decorations were perfect. Quality kitchenware, a beautiful Weber gas-grill, comfortable bedding, I could go on and on! We truly loved it and will definitely rent the same property again! I loved getting up early with the kids and sitting under the gazebo on the front porch sipping coffee to the quiet mountain sounds......so relaxing. We absolutely LOVED Bear Hill and felt that the owners had pretty much thought of everything! The furniture was very nice and it had a nice warm cabin feel. Loved the baby gate on the porch, pack and play came into use for the 2 year old, nice pots and pans, and of course the hot tub was awesome! I even loved their dishes. Haha. My family and I stayed at Bear Hill in Boone the week of July 4th. The cabin was beautiful and so was the view. This was my second rental from Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals and I will definitely rent from them again. The only disappointment we had all week was the rainy weather, but at least we had a beautiful, comfortable cabin to stay dry in. We loved the large front porch and of course the hot tub!
