We loved everything about this cabin and the property that it's on. The views are stunning and the cabin is packed with anything that you could need during your trip. The cabin has modern features and is very cozy. It is very open and spacious. We loved it so much we are making this a new yearly trip. Fall in Banner Elk is absolutely amazing.

We had a nice time at the sheltered elk, everything was spotless and the house still smells like new! The house is near the winery which we absolutely loved, across the street you will see the magnificent view from the kitchen window and front door. I love all the windows, in the place. The house is approx 5 miles from the main gate, it can feel a bit far at first but is not bad, just drive the speed limit and enjoy the view! I recommend heading to great camp Saturday at 7pm for the evening entertainment (live music) brick oven pizza and adult drinks, this is a family event so children are welcomed! There's plenty to do at eagles nest, the views are magnificent. Enjoy the cozy sheltered elk!

The Sheltered Elk is a luxurious mountain getaway. We went for a girls' weekend. The views and sunsets are stunning! We loved the hiking trails, and roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. The house had everything you could ask for. The staff is very friendly and quick to respond if you need anything or have questions. Perfect for a family and friends getaway, highly recommend!

Our family loved the house! Rooms were spacious along with the bathrooms. Located close to the Sportsman Lodge and a short walk to the ATV rentals.

We made a quick trip to the mountains to ski with our kids at Beech Mountain. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The recliners and reclining couch and all of the blankets were perfect after a day at the slopes. They also had tons of games which we enjoyed. We loved this house and would definitely book it again!

Sheltered Elk is a beautiful and quaint home! It's well appointed and in a great location to play basketball at the North Pavilion, hang indoors by the fooseball table, or take a trip to the nearby winery! My family (even two “easily bored kiddos) had a ball at the house and hiking nearby!

Sheltered Elk was amazing with sunrise views and on top of the mountain you could not ask for much more. We never wanted to leave! Property was very clean and it just felt like home. The views on the mountain were stunning. We would highly recommend staying here and working with Blue Ridge Mountain as well.

We had an awesome time! Cabin was well stocked with everything you need. Top quality kitchen pots, pans, knives, etc. we cooked on the Weber grill and had fires every night in the outdoor fire pit. We loved making s'mores and sitting around the fire. Highly recommend this place.

Very well built home in beautiful well laid out community high up in the majestic blue ridge mountains. Gorgeous views - well appointment furnishings and everything you would need while on vacation! The views from the Sheltered Elk are amazing. Looking out the cabin windows and seeing that beautiful view of Beech Mountain was so peaceful. Every evening we sat outside on the back deck and enjoyed the scenery and our drinks. The kitchen is brand new and fully equipped to prepare any meal you want. We especially enjoyed making waffles in the waffle maker the first morning there! We couldn't believe how comfortable the beds were and the walk-in master shower has a large rain shower head that we loved. I spent some time sitting upstairs in the loft reading a book and it was just what I needed. We do plan on returning to the Sheltered Elk.

We loved staying at The Shelter Elk. The views of the mountains from the cabin are breathtaking and the week that we were there, the weather was perfect! The cabin is so close to the Sportsman’s Lodge and we spent lunch on Saturday and brunch on Sunday there in front of a roaring fire, eating delicious food prepared by the nicest people. The concert on Saturday night at Great Camp was a big hit too. So many fun things to do there. Inside the cabin, the beds are so comfy to sleep on and everything is decorated so beautifully. I love the reclining leather couch and chair in front of the fireplace with the blankets, a perfect place for the family to gather together. The upstairs loft is great for reading and has lots of games and activities for kids to stay busy for hours. We will be booking another trip to The Sheltered Elk again in the future.
