The three thoughtfully decorated bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping arrangements for up to eight guests. The master bedroom on the main level boasts a king-sized bed. Upstairs find the second bedroom with one king bed and one twin, and the third bedroom with one full and one twin. Each room is designed with your comfort in mind, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
Venture outside, and you'll discover the true gems of this home - a hot tub and fire pit. Enjoy a sunny day on the New River using Zaloo's Canoes, Kayaks, and Tubes. Public put-in locations are nearby, as well for those bringing their own kayaks!
OFF-PEAK SEASON SPECIAL: Stay longer than the minimum number of nights and automatically receive a 5-10% Discount (Excluding Holidays).
Additional Notes:
- Repeat guests returning to Honey Bear Retreat can receive a 10% discount (not to be stacked with other discounts).
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- This property is pet friendly with a $25 per day fee. Only 2 dogs allowed at a time.
- AWD or 4WD vehicles are strongly encouraged during winter months. The road leading to this home is gravel and moderately steep.
- Gravel parking space for up to 4 vehicles
- Bookings cancelled 60 days before the start of stay receive 100% refund. Bookings cancelled between 31-60 days will receive a 50% refund. Bookings cancelled within 30 days receive no refund unless dates are rebooked.

Beautiful home in very quiet location. Ok that we had to go out in the yard to use cell phone as the peace and quiet was worth the inconvenience. We had a great time and the cabin exceeded our expectations!! The views were beautiful. It was very private with loads of fun things to do right there on the property. We enjoyed our weekend at Acorn Retreat. We actually enjoyed it more than we thought we would. It rained and the grass was wet so we didn't get to play outdoor activities that were offered like horseshoes and badminton. We still had a lot to keep us busy. The children loved what they called the secret path that led across a creek to hammocks. We enjoyed the fire pit for making hotdogs during the day and smores at night. The children also enjoyed playing the large wooden connect four- game. We also played corn hole under the covered porch when it was raining. The hot tub was a big plus for the adults. It rained and the grass was wet so we didn't get to play outdoor activities that were offered like horseshoes and badminton. We still had a lot to keep us busy. The children loved what they called the secret path that led across a creek to hammocks. We enjoyed the fire pit for making hotdogs during the day and smores at night. The children also enjoyed playing the large wooden connect four-game. We also played corn hole under the covered porch when it was raining. The hot tub was a big plus for the adults. We loved our time here at Acorn Retreat. The cabin was just what we were looking for. We were surprised by the long unpaved road to the house but it added to the ambience. (The GPS did not find it) The area was much more remote than we realized but we r adventurous and do not mind driving to find activities! We would definitely stay here and recommend it to others. The outside games, hot tub, hammocks, and fire pit were wonderful. We had everything we needed at Acorn Retreat. Unfortunately it was not peak color season as we had thought. Beautiful home, loved the hot tub. Enjoyed the hot tub a lot! Enjoyed tubing at hawksnest. The road to get there was very muddy and I'd recommend 4 wheel or all wheel drive to get there.
