You’re sure to have a wonderful Point of View after experiencing this magnificent mountain home! Enjoy watching the mountains roll away into the horizon from nearly every room.
The main level, accessed with just one step from the parking area, has a central great room with a wall of windows and sliding glass doors overlooking the views, 22-foot knotty pine cathedral ceilings with 10-foot ceilings in the rest of the rooms, a stone gas log wall switch-operated fireplace, a built in log mantle, and a nook for the HDTV & DVD player. Comfortable leather furniture is arranged around the fireplace and looking out the windows. Also in the great room is a dining table with room for 12 with an authentic 4 foot wide antler chandelier overhead, as well as the fully stocked kitchen with granite counters and stainless appliances.
The master suite, in the east wing of the main floor, has a King bed on a log frame, a stone gas log fireplace with wall switch controls, sliding doors to the deck, and a private bathroom with a water closet, a soaking tub and separate shower, a granite vanity, and a walkin closet.
The west wing of the main floor has two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a tub/shower. Each room has a Queen bed.
Downstairs there is a recreation room with a slate-topped pool table with ping pong topper, a tiki bar, a kitchenette with mini-fridge, sink, and microwave, a sleeper sofa, and a 65” HDTV. There are two more Queen bedrooms here as well, along with a full bathroom. The entire lower level also has 10-foot ceilings. Step outside to the brand new patio and take a relaxing dip in the beautiful new Bullfrog Spas hot tub!
This home was truly designed with everyone’s comfort in mind. The 60 foot long deck on the main floor has a gas grill mainlined to the home’s main tank as well as a selection of furniture to relax and enjoy the amazing views. Relax in the hammock under the deck, and at night watch the city lights twinkle on the horizon while you roast marshmallows in the firepit. An oversized hot water heater serves the home, and there are three heat & air zones.
Perched atop a mountain near historic Banner Elk, the cabin is just 3 miles to Wildcat Lake for fishing and swimming in summer months, 20-25 minutes to Sugar Mountain, Hawksnest, and Ski Beech resorts, 10 minutes to downtown Banner Elk, and just 40 minutes to Boone and all the other High Country attractions. You and your loved ones are sure to enjoy beautiful A Point of View for years to come!

- This home is accessed by a paved road with a moderate uphill climb, and the driveway is gravel and circular with the first entry being a little less steep than the second. The roads and the first entrance to the driveway are all plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access the property in winter months. We are happy to help you find the home with the access you are most comfortable with, any time of year!

The name of the property, was accurate. The view, day and night were awesome. We were able to relax in a great vacation home. It would be easy to stay longer. The gravel driveway requires caution for inexperienced motorcycle drivers with heavy bikes. Great for summer, but winter would likely require a four wheel drive vehicle. Our stay was absolutely phenomenal. The house is GORGEOUS and location simply breathtaking. The view alone is worth booking this place. Watching the sunrise and sunset from the deck was certainly a highlight for everyone. We had a large group of 12 people (most were couples) and they all fit very nicely into the house rooms/beds wise. 2 single people ended up sleeping on the very comfy and large couch (which they didn't mind at all.) Just a heads up for those planning with a similar group. The driveway easily fit 4 regular size cars. Check-in and check-out was both straightforward and easy. Soft and dreamy beds, huge TVs, (we didn't even use them), fast Wifi, coffee maker, laundry room, fully stocked kitchen (pots/pans/spices/seasonings/utensils/plates/cups/bowls/cooking & baking ware/dishwasher, etc). We absolutely loved the hot tub with a spectacular view (they even provided hot tub towels) and game room with a nice pool table. The outdoor fire pit proved to be a favorite activity as well. They provided enough firewood for one night — after that we bought more at a local gas station. I'd recommend bringing your own lighter. Indoor fireplaces didn't require anything as they were gas “logs”. The gas grill was easy to use and a hit for dinner. My boyfriend proposed to me outside on the deck while we were looking at the stars — he brought his own telescope. I'd highly recommend bringing one with you as the stars are pretty magical. Blue Ridge Mountain Remtals is the only rental company I use when staying in the mountains of N.C. I have used this company for the past 12 years every year at Thanksgiving and their properties are consistently well managed and clean. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals was "excellent" to work with for our week long stay. Would I recommend them to friends/family? Of course. Will I use them again? Definitely. Thanks for making my stay better than I imagined. It's nice when you are having family drive in from all over to get together for Highland Games and not have to worry about what kind of accommodations you have reserved. Wonderful stay in "A Point of View". Our family of 13 had our Christmas in Banner Elk this year. We all went to Tweetsie Christmas and had a great time. Our grandchildren range from 3 to 17 and our three adult daughters and their husbands had a fantastic time. We had plenty of room for the entire family which made our stay most enjoyable.
