We stayed at Highland Mist for 5 days, and it was everything we were hoping for. The views were amazing. We were able to relax and enjoy each other's company. The winery at the bottom of the hill was lovely and we were able to experience some of the small towns nearby.

This was a fabulous spot for our family and friends. We wanted to be near Banner Elk and Lees-McRae College. There are a few turns in the road to get there but it's not bad and worth it! Just up the road from Banner Elk Winery. The home is well appointed and comfortable.

The home was exceptional - clean, well stocked, and even better than described; the views were outstanding - we could sit on the porch or in the hot tub all day and just gaze at the beauty; the location was perfect for exploring Banner Elk and other Highland towns. Hiking, breweries, restaurants, and wineries a plenty, just a short drive away. This was our second experience with BRMR and we will be sure to book again soon.

Perfect quiet retreat. Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. We got snowed in one morning till the snow plow came down the road. The weather is quite different than 3 miles down. We really enjoyed the home and the hiking in the area.

This was a wonderful property for our family with three teenagers. The house was very clean and everything we needed to cook dinners and breakfast together was available. The views from the deck were beautiful and the outdoor fireplace was also a nice touch. The kids really loves the hot tub. We will definitely visit this place again!

We were 3 couples and a baby and had plenty of room to spread out. The house was very clean and comfortable. The view from the deck was spectacular. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub, the outdoor fireplace and the fire pit. It was also very close to the winery and downtown Banner Elk, which had many restaurant choices. I would recommend as a first choice if your looking for a mountain get away.

Highland Mist is a very special property. The sunsets from the deck are truly magnificent and the peaceful seclusion of the property is an introvert's dream! Though it is kind of “tucked away” you are not far from downtown Banner Elk or Beech Mountain. Visiting with the neighboring cows and watching the deers roam through the yard was so relaxing. Would definitely stay again.

We've stayed at many rental cabins with our large family and this has been the best one yet. A lot of times the pictures look so awesome only to be disappointed when we arrive. This place was amazing and the pictures don't even do it justice. The rental company that manages Highland Mist is top notch. They are very responsive. We were there when we had 1.5 feet of snow. We actually got snowed in. It was the most beautiful snow we'd ever seen! The views from this home are amazing. We do have one problem though... Now we don't think we will ever be happy at another place because it will be nearly impossible to find something as awesome as this place. Stay here! You will not be disappointed!

We had such a great stay at Highland Mist! The view from the deck is gorgeous. Was great to have fire place on the deck and the fire pit on the lawn, we took advantage of both! Lower level was great for the kids, they got to play with foosball and the pool table can turn into ping pong. The house was super clean upon arrival, and check in was easy. I would definitely recommend and would book here again.

Our winter holiday stay at this mountain retreat was absolutely wonderful! The home is beautiful, cozy, and well furnished. We greatly enjoyed both fireplaces, the fire pit and lolled in the hot tub, with snowflakes falling.
The views were extraordinary, as we were at the top of the mountain and we had a family of deer visiting in our backyard. We brought a cooler full of meat, a trunkful of firewood, and after a stop at the local supermarket for milk, bread, etc. we were set. I would've been happy never leaving Highland Mist, but the kids wanted to hike, go snow tubing, and visit the great Mast General Store.
The folks at Blueridge Mountain Rentals were kind, helpful, and Johnny on the spot with any request. They even had firewood delivered. I will call on them for all of my future mountain vacation rentals.

The house is beautiful - we had a fantastic time. The view was absolutely amazing! Our only complaint is that the games in the game room are outdated and don't really work- the pool table and ping pong table specifically. Otherwise, a great time!

The cabin was very comfortable for us and our adult four kids + 2 spouses! Kitchen had almost everything you need to cook Thanksgiving turkey and the house was very comfortable + roomy, though we were a little disappointed the outdoor fireplace couldn't be used (on the porch).

Highland Mist was an absolutely awesome experience. Beautiful home, everything ready to go in and stay. I highly suggest 4-wheel drive if you come in the winter months. Awesome exploration area behind the cabin. If you hike to the top you will discover Big Rock Park. Great place to take pictures! This was the first time our family has ever rented a home/cabin. This did not disappoint.

The house was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and had every thing we needed. We went hiking in Pisgah and enjoyed the local winery then we returned back to the cabin to watch beautiful sunsets, enjoy the fireplaces, the hot tub, and the games. The kitchen was well stocked and the dining room was a perfect place to share some family time and home cooking!! Each bedroom had comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. We wished we could have stayed longer!

The view is endless and reminds you how big God is and how small we are. A very relaxing stay with very little interference from the outside. You can get away with a lot when no else is around, so that was fun. Looking forward to another visit!

We really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful log cabin. The views are wonderful and the fall colors were in full bloom. Enjoyed the week with our "kids" and grandkids. Played golf, went on hikes, enjoyed the Woolly Worm Festival and loved watching the cows with our grandbabies saying Moooooo! Enjoyed great weather and an early "winter storm". Looking forward to a return visit someday.

We put puzzles together, read books, relaxed in the hot tub, played pool, and built a fire and made smores! We even went for a walk down the road to Rocky Knob. We just returned from Highland Mist last week and we already miss it! The house and property were beautiful and we truly cannot wait to get back. We had two families of four and there was plenty of room to roam without feeling crammed in. We also were lucky enough to receive lots of snow during our stay, which was exciting since we are all Floridians! Thank you for providing such a clean, nice rental, and we will definitely be back!

Thank you so much. What a beautiful cabin, we had a wonderful time here on our Honeymoon. Hot tub, dinner at Louisiana Purchase, then relaxing with a beautiful fire and yes - SNOW! We had the most wonderful time in this beautiful home. Our stay was so comfortable and enjoyable. After staying at other places prior visits, we have finally found the home we will continue to come back to over and over again. Even with a little rain, we were able to make smores on the outdoor fireplace. The kitchen was great and well stocked. Everything we needed to make scrumptious meals. Finally, the VIEW!!! We could see for miles. Absolutely stunning. An extra note - the office staff was also great. I had called the office to report one small issue. I can tell you, that it was handled swiftly and professionally. Thanks for a great vacation!

We rented Highland Mist during the 4th of July week and had the time of our lives. We've rented cabins in the North Ga mountains for the past 6 years but none of them can compare to your lodge. This place had everything you needed, especially in the kitchen. All members of our party said their bedrooms were very cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The best features are the location, very secluded, and the outside fireplace. The location is ideal with plenty of activities to take advantage of. We went whitewater rafting, golfing, fly fishing and yes, the ladies loved shopping in Boone and Blowing Rock. After each fun-filled day we would relax by building a fire in the outside fireplace and plan the activities for the next day. If you like being spoiled with amenities, cleanliness, great furnishings and a view to die for this place is for you. Oh, I forgot to mention the wildlife. Each night we would see deer in the field. I also saw turkey, pheasant and quail. Thank you very much for sharing this little piece of Heaven. We're already looking for a place for next year.
